Unknown location, Thailand

“Is this what you want?” Stark’s deep voice penetrated the air.

It was just the two of them this time. Sherry calmed her breathing as they walked together down a short flight of steps. In the far distance, a sturdy looking jet plane awaited.

It would all soon be over, she told herself. She didn’t know what he was thinking or what he wanted from her, but Stark, like the times he had before, was fond of making overnight decisions. What he claimed to, this time, was to erase all the pain in her by taking her somewhere else.

It didn’t matter where. Sherry patted her flat tummy and thought about each time she decided to run from fate, but ended up answering to it.

She didn’t tell him about the pregnancy. She didn’t know what she should do next. But he had questioned if the only way for her to completely put down the death of her husband was for her to leave.
