Chapter 76

I could see Kin was worried about me when I started picking at my food. It wasn’t the steak at all. Oh, Kin is an excellent cook for sure, the steak was done to perfection, but I just couldn’t ingest it. Each time I was reminded of all the trouble that the murderer took to threaten Mom and Dad, I just couldn’t swallow my food. But I also didn’t want Kin to fret, so I didn't argue when he suggested the salad.

After dinner, I decided to bring the tall stainless steel thermal coffee carafe to the centre table with mugs in the living room since all of us will probably spend the whole night brainstorming. I sat beside Kin in our two-seater; our ‘love-seat’ as we call it, while Miguel, Brian and Layla sat right opposite us on the three-seater.

“So, Brian, you said you have some leads,” Kin said, not wasting any more time dawdling.

“You wanted me to check the backgrounds of all the staff in your company, and I came up with a few unexpected results,” Brian said.
