Chapter 55

He knows!

He knows...

He had known for a long time but he didn't tell us, or he wasn't even able to ask me. I don’t know if I need to be happy, if I’m going to be sad or annoyed. I just frowned as I watched Jaxon. He was sitting in front of me, his two arms crossed over his chest as one of his eyebrows rose seriously.

I don't know him very well-- I mean, I don't know him anymore.

After his birthday it seemed like he suddenly treated us differently. He no longer talks, he no longer likes to eat chips, he no longer watches cartoons. He was always quiet, I even remember back then that he requested us that he wanted to have his own room so we ordered the workers to make his room, no theme, not a spiderman, not a superman. Just a plain black and gray. He's like an old man!

Jesus Christ! What do I do with this boy?

"Mom," he called. I felt joy, honestly. I felt joy since he's starting to call me 'mom'.

It really softened my heart.

"Yes, Jaxon?"
