“You ladies are looking good!” Mr. Dean’s brother exclaimed as he greeted us with his usual exaggerated gestures and words.
“Sister-in-law! How are you faring these days?” He turns to ask me – I could see Mr. Dean was uncomfortably standing at his side.
I guess I can relate with him with the fact that I’d like to disown my siblings sometimes – well, I mean for me, I’d like to disown them sooner.
“I apologize, I am somebody else’s sister-in-law, if you didn’t have knowledge of that,” I smiled and spoke through gritted teeth.
He smiled and stubbornly said, “I knew.”
My face twitched – the smile on my face intact. I was quite glad when he wasn’t with us earlier, I see it was a temporary comfort.
“Let’s go to the auction now,” Mr. Dean interrupted with an uncomfortable smile on his face – elbowing his brother as the guide came back to escort us to our table once again.
