Chapter 48

“Lux, I’m telling you – you can’t be meeting up with strangers,” I warned him as we arrived in the US.

“And I’m telling you, mommy – he’s not a stranger,” he said for the nth time.

“So, why can’t you tell mommy who this person is?” I ask him and he only kept his mouth shut. I sighed – I could only make sure he was not out of my sight as we traveled towards our accommodation.

“Asher, make sure Lux isn’t out of your sight – that kid is talking about meeting up with strangers and it makes me shudder thinking about it,” I warned Asher as Lux was still inside the bathroom.

“What? When did he say that?” He asked as he was still carrying the luggage we brought along.

“Earlier – at the plane, he said he was meeting with someone he wouldn’t tell me who,” I said. “He’s been on the internet for an alarmingly long time – there’s much news about online strangers being the most dangerous,” I said as I reminisced the things my previous classmates were gossiping about.
