“How can I help?” The friendly door-lady asked as I looked at the sea of faces.

“I’m meeting a friend-” Just then, I saw my friend Audrey waving wildly from her spot on the corner table outside. “Oh, there she is. Thank you.”

It wasn’t Friday night-it was actually a Monday evening-and Audrey and I were meeting for dinner and drinks at a new cozy bar and grill that we had we had recently discovered located in the heart of Manhattan. It served pizza, burgers and the best steak in town, with specialty drinks and wine. The atmosphere was chilled with a good vibe and the service was excellent. The outdoor pavement seating was perfect on a summer evening.

“Hey, honey!” She rose to her feet, throwing her slender arms around me in a bear hug and giving me an exuberant kiss on the cheek. “It’s been forever!” The tall eye-catching blonde wore jeans and an off-shoulder blouse, her eye-catching blonde hair twisted into an elegant knot.
