LUCAS
It was a busy morning for me when Aaron barged into my office after I’d been smartly avoiding him for weeks.
“I know you’re busy but we need to talk,” he said, lowering himself onto the visitors’ chair. “I’ll be quick.” This could only be out Drew. Had she finally told him the truth? I doubt it. He was too calm and fidgety like he was about to ask a favor or something.
“Va bene,” I said, dropping my pen on the document I was about to sign. “Go ahead.”
“I need to be transferred back to Dubai-if it’s okay with you that is?” he remembered his manners and clutched the edge of my desk. “I can’t stay here.”
Would it have been too revealing if I asked him where to sign? “Why?”
“It’s complicated…” His lips thinned and he sagged his shoulders.
“Okay,” I nodded, crossing my legs. “Get HR to prepare the paperwork and you can go. Is that all?”
