She had thought she could put the incident out of her mind. She had thought Montreal would just ignore her after the incident.
She had been wrong on both counts.
Wendy sighed and stared moodily at the assignment in front of her. Montreal had been incredibly difficult the past few days, giving her brutally difficult assignments and constantly scolding her in front of everyone when Wendy failed to complete them to Montreal’s satisfaction.
“Are you done, Ms. Wyatt?” said a familiar cold voice, and Wendy tensed. She glanced at Christine to her left, but her friend eyed the book in front of her with exaggerated interest. Traitor.
“I’ll be done soon,” Wendy lied. She stiffened when Montreal put a hand on the desk and leaned down to look at the blank piece of paper in front of her.
“I see,” Montreal said.
