*ABBY's POV*
A few days of silence have passed since, and in all of those days, I stayed like a dead person at Gilbert's house. As I was avoiding them, I made sure to mask my presence as much as possible. I was called to breakfast several times, but I refused. I refused so many things, not because I detest them- well it's partly that reason, but there's something deeper than that.
The fact that I almost died once because of food poisoning.
And no, it wasn't an accident.
I shook my head in dismay as I shooed the memory. I was simply too busy to even think of things that won't benefit me. I went back to working on my drafts for the competition when someone knocked for the third time of the day. I knew it was because of dinner, but it baffles me how Gilbert doesn't stop inviting me after I turned down the invitation several times already- three times a day at that.
I opened the door, and Nanny Miriam showed up.
"What?"
She grumbles, "Your father invites you for dinner."
