Abby Brooks, who spent her life being single, had always dreamt of being a different case than everybody else—she wanted to have a child and raise that child on her own.
And one night, her dream was fulfilled when she met a brokenhearted, handsome man at a club. He was the perfect candidate in her eyes. It didn't take long before things got heated after several drinks, and they spent the night together. I woke up just as I had slept, with a smile on my face but it was quickly turned upside down into a frown when I felt the space beside me only to find it empty. I opened my eyes to look for Abby but to my dismay she was nowhere to be found. I got up and put on my shirt to go look for her outside.


I finally found her in the kitchen, her back facing me. She was whisking something in a big bowl and I would be lying if I said that it did not smell heavenly, the kitchen had an amazing scent spread all over it and it smelled like she making pancakes. My stomach grumbled just by the thought of pancakes and she paused her ongoing task to turn around and look at me. I smiled sheepishly at her and muttered out a good morning quickly so she would not feel like I was standing there gawking at her from a couple of minutes.
