Abby Brooks, who spent her life being single, had always dreamt of being a different case than everybody else—she wanted to have a child and raise that child on her own.

This time Abby was not awoken rudely but rather by the annoying noise of her alarm. She groaned and half opened her eyes to turn off the alarm and got out of bed to return to the place she knew she was going to give to face Raphael but she was not sure that she had the energy to do so.


After showering, she decided to put a little more effort than usual into her appearance as she was returning after many days. She decided to go with a royal blue button-up, and she tucked it into her favorite beige pencil skirt. She paired it with beige heels and a handbag. She let her hair flow in its natural waves and she did a “no make-up” makeup look. She gave herself a once-over and was happy with how she was looking. She left the house early not bothering to have breakfast.
