THIRD PERSON’S POV
Sunday came quickly, and Abby was really excited as she was going to meet her mother today after a very long time and finally get rid of having to live with the people she truly despised. Abby packed her stuff from the room and went down the stairs with the duffle bag in her hand. As she was about to get out of the house, she sighed and turned back. Even though her father had done her mother and Abby wrong their entire lives, she could not help but feel like she owed him goodbye as he had truly been nice to her this time.
She knocked on the door to his study where she was sure he would be at this time, and just as his voice asked her to come in, she put down her bag and went inside to find Gilbert sitting on his chair reading a book.
“Hey, kiddo. Is there anything you want?” he asked, shock clear on his features as he saw Abby approaching him.
