Abby Brooks, who spent her life being single, had always dreamt of being a different case than everybody else—she wanted to have a child and raise that child on her own.

It was a relaxed Sunday morning. Birds were chirping, the weather was great, and everyone was either out for a picnic with their families or lying around chilling in their houses.


She lay wide awake in bed, the jitters for the night not letting her mind and body relax. Abby was wide awake and restless. She was anxious about what she would reply to Kevin about his proposal as well as what Raphael wanted from her and why he wanted to meet her after cutting all ties.


She decided to stop stressing herself out and had lunch with her mother and Ryan. As she scrolled through her social media in the late afternoon, her phone dinged. When she saw it was a text from Raphael, she was sure before even opening the message that he had cancelled the plan of meeting.


With curiosity lacing her mind, she hurriedly opened the text only for it to read.


["Change of plans, meet me at the cafe near the park at 7 pm."]
