She breathed deeply in and out to calm her wolf and herself. Her first thought was to make a guess and beat up Kate and pull Seth away from her.
But guesses never did any good.
She talked as calmly as she could and slowly walked into the room, a good distance away from the two of them. "Seth, Kate, what's going on?" she asked.
Kate was silent, her face still against Seth's chest. Her hand rested on his chest while her other hand held his bicep. This made Sarah very uncomfortable, as it was far too close for her liking.
Seth, on the other hand, seemed to be going crazy. He was shaking, his skin was pale. Almost as if he was on the verge of fainting. Thunder wanted to pull Kate off of him and noticed that she made no indication that she was uncomfortable hugging him.
Noting that he was hugging her because he felt bad, Sarah decided it was time to intervene once and for all before things took a turn for the worse.
She blinked once and ordered, "Kate, let him go."
Kate automatically let go of him and turned to her with a scowl. "What the hell, Sarah?"
Sarah raised an eyebrow, "What the hell do you mean? Can't you tell he's not feeling well? Why did you hug him in the first place?"
Kate rolled her eyes, "Seth and I are friends, damn it. He comforts me, in case you have not noticed, Luna. My partner cheated on me, so I need a friend to cheer me up."
'Doesn't this chick have any other friends to comfort her? Why my buddy?' asked Sarah in her head, not satisfied with her explanation.
"Besides, it's not like he's kissing me, Luna. We are just hugging. Friends are allowed to hug," she hissed at Sarah, annoyed that Sarah was telling her what to do.
'Abandon ship to remain calm. I repeat, abandon ship. Rip that bitch in half and get your buddy the hell out of here, human!' Thunder barked.
Sarah ignored her and turned her attention to Kate. "It does not look like he's comforting you. It looks more like the opposite."
"Oh, yeah? Like what?" she replied sarcastically.
"Obviously, you are blind as hell. You look like you are bothering him. He does not like anyone touching him so formally. Even if you two are friends, you have to understand that. Not only are you hugging him when he's traumatized by the touch, but you are literally feeling his chest and arms off."
"Okay, first of all." said Kate, finally letting go of Seth. "Is he not allowed to have female friends? You are way too possessive, Sarah. How many days has it been since you have seen him again? Also, you are way too insecure in the face of the fact that I am a girl and I am his girlfriend. So you are way too paranoid. It's just a hug and I am just touching him a little bit. That's part of the comfort hug. Don't you trust him or something?"
Sarah closed her eyes and took another deep breath. This chick was driving her crazy.
"Well, for starters... Bitch." Sarah paused as she saw Kate's mouth drop open at the name she called her. "Or Kate, whatever you call yourself, you are still a snake. And a bitch, but it's Luna to you. Second, what Seth does is none of my business. Who he's friends with, I can not control. But it's bitches like you that ruin it for everyone else. That's why we girlfriends or wives have to be on our guard sometimes. It's not that I do not trust Seth. It's that I do not trust women. Do not get that shit wrong. Third, I am not insecure. I know where I stand with Seth, and it's right next to him. And you should know where your spot is, and it's nowhere near him. So walk away," she said, staring at them without blinking.
Sarah crossed her arms and continued;
"Since day one, you have been harassing me and overstepping your boundaries. Seth has a companion and that's me. I am not comfortable with the way you are touching him."
Kate lost her temper and began to palpate Seth's chest and arms. "Oh, you mean like this? I was already touching him like this when you came in, right?"
She struggled to contain her wolf, because Thunder wanted to come out and give her a piece of her mind. She grated, "And that's why your partner cheated on you."
Kate automatically pushed Seth away from her.
A little too forcefully, I might add.
He slammed into the wall, his face contorting in pain as his eyes widened.
The impact created a dent in the wall.
Unable to control her temper, Sarah went completely berserk after that. Screw trying to stay calm. She's been messing with her since she returned to this pack. What the hell was she up to!
Roaring, she grabbed Kate by the throat and slammed her harder against the wall. Kate choked and gagged as she gripped her tighter. Kate clawed at Sarah's hands and slapped her shoulders again and again, but Sarah refused to loosen her grip on her.
At that moment, Sarah heard screaming behind her. With highly sensitive senses, she turned her head and did not let go of Kate as her gaze landed on her companion cowering in the corner.
He was having a panic attack when he started hyperventilating.
'GET MATE! GET MATE! HE NEEDS OUR
HELP!', Thunder roared, flashing her canines as her worries grew by the second.
She flung Kate off her like a rag doll and squatted down to Seth's height. She put her arm around his neck and helped carry him to her room. Of course he flinched when she put a hand on him and tried to pull away, but he fought it, knowing she wanted to help him.
His breathing was still out of control and tears were running down his pale cheeks.
That damn bitch had set him off when she had pinned him against the wall.
Wait... do not tell me they triggered it too?
Shit, maybe it was Sarah who set him off.
Sarah got angry and annoyed with herself. She should have controlled herself better, but it was hard to have a woman rubbing up against him like that. It did not make her or her wolf happy. Kate got what she wanted because she got a reaction out of them.
Damn it!
'My friend is sad because of us too?' Thunder whimpered, sad that they had scared her mate.
'Possibly. He's sensitive to violence, remember? He grew up with it. His mother was always aggressive and abusive towards him,' she said in her mind, trying to explain.
Thunder whimpered again, her tail tucked between her legs.
'What are we going to do?' cried Thunder, curling up into a ball. She felt hopeless, because it was her companion. It was the first time Sarah had seen Thunder so dejected and knew no answers.
Usually Thunder is there for her and gives her an idea. Now it was the other way around.
'The thing about mates is that we never want to hurt them. It's almost like we are hurting ourselves when we do that,' Thunder said.
'We will be there for him. Cheer up,' she replied sadly.
She set him down on her bed, made silly gestures and asked him to settle down with her. "Here, breathe like this, Seth. Like this, come on. You can do it."
She breathed in and out, watching him closely.
He mimicked her movements until a few minutes passed.
After he seemed to calm down, she apologized to him. "Seth... I am so sorry. I was violent and should have controlled my temper better. I hope I did not scare you too much. Please do not see me any other way..." she said, frowning.
He nodded and gave her a small smile. As if he wanted to show her that he forgave her.
Noticing that he was getting even quieter, she asked softly, "How long has this been going on, Seth?"
