Ava's POV:
As I entered the large building also known as the school, I sighed as I walked up to the receptionist who looked like she was on the phone trying to calm someone down. Her eyebrows were drawn together into a big frown as she tried to calm down who I assumed was her colleague on the other end of the phone. Apparently he'd sensed a great wave of anxiety coming from her and wanted to see her in person to make sure she was indeed okay, as she'd said, to which the woman said that wasn't necessary. I knew it was rude to eavesdrop on what was obviously a private conversation, but I couldn't help looking for something to lighten my mood.
