Mary's POV:
My trembling fingers dropped the photograph, which suddenly felt like acid in my hands.
The sweat on my forehead only worsened in the freezing temperature that now prevailed in my room. It seemed cramped, even though I was in a room the size of a mansion.
I double-checked that my windows and doors were locked and my curtains drawn, but the unease in my stomach didn't subside. I grabbed my stomach because I suddenly felt sick. Throwing up sounded like a good idea, but nothing came out. My head was spinning and my world suddenly collapsed right in front of me.
I thought it was a joke. A silly joke that someone wanted to play on the 'new guys', but I underestimated that person. She or he was smarter than I thought. Someone didn't like me. In fact, it seemed like they wanted to get rid of me.
