Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Andrew was just looking at the woman’s face through the light inside of his car. He couldn’t help but feel mesmerised by the beauty that was just right in front of him. If they were in a different situation, he knew that he would be captivated by her. He could imagine an angel had gone down from heaven because of her innocent face. It was a small, round face with brown eyes paired with long thick eyelashes. Her eyebrows were perfectly defined. She had a small chin and rosy, luscious lip.

He could imagine how soft those lips were. As he darted his gaze, he felt like her lips were inviting him for a kiss.

Andrew couldn’t help but feel his jeans tightened between the crotch of his pants.

Suddenly, he turned off the car engine. He quickly unbuckled himself and unlocked his car. He got off the car as he felt that his phone was vibrating from his pocket. He was silently thankful with the disturbance because if not, he didn’t know where his imagination could take him.

As soon as he was outside, he fished out his phone and answered the non-stop call. His eyebrows were knitted together when he saw that it was from his brother.

“Hello, bro?” He asked as soon as he heard the background noise on the other line.

“Drew, where are you?” He could sense the worry in his brother’s voice.

“I am in my place. What’s up?” He lied while looking at the woman who was still inside the car. Andrew could tell that she was thinking, and he was wondering what was running inside her head.

“Bro, did the hospital staff already called you?”

As soon as he heard that question, he shook his head as if his brother was just in front of him.

“No, why? Did something happen?” He asked. He couldn’t help but wonder why the hospital would call him. They don’t manage any hospital or any service that they would be interested in.

His heart suddenly pounded when a thought came inside his mind. Could it be his grandmother? Did she have any emergency? But why the house servants didn’t call him?

“Someone just called me from the City Hospital. He was saying that Grandma is there,” his brother continued.

“What? What happened to her? Why has no one called me from the house? Where is Butler Dai?” He asked one after another. “Hey, if this is a prank, it isn’t funny,” Andrew added in a serious voice. But could his brother throw something like this? No, Andy wouldn’t do such a thing because he knew how worried he could be for their grandmother.

His heart was beating so fast as he was waiting for the answer of his brother on the other line.

He heard his brother take a deep breath. From that moment, he knew that Andy was not playing a trick on him. Something really happened.

“How I wish that it is just a prank. But they said that grandma is there because she met with an accident,” Andrew’s heart tightened. His worry for his grandmother was written all over his face.

“Wh--- Accident? Seriously? I already told her not to go out and drive the car. Where are the drivers? How could she have gotten outside? What are they doing? Why had no one seen her go out?” He exclaimed as he couldn’t believe the news that he was hearing from his brother. Andrew was upset. No, he was mad because he felt that the people, he had hired failed to do their job.

“Alright, let’s not argue. Can you just go to the City Hospital? I am on my way there,” Andy said ignoring all his questions and then he hung up.

Andrew let out a sigh.

He was just looking at the phone in his hand. He went inside his car and then turned on the engine again after he buckled himself. He was just hoping that his grandmother wasn’t in a critical condition. She was already old but he must admit that she was just like a child. She was as stubborn as a teenager. She never listened to him. To them. She would do whatever she wanted but still, Andrew loved the old woman. If he could only keep an eye on her, he would have done so, but he couldn’t just leave his business.

And, their family was very much aware of that. That was the reason why Andy called him right away.

“What happened?” The woman’s voice brought him back to his senses which made him step on the accelerator.

He turned his head on the backside of the car.

“Get off,” he commanded. He saw when the woman’s expression suddenly changed. Her eyebrows were drawn together and surprise was written all over her face. Obviously, she was acting like she didn't want to leave. For some reason, he could see a trace of fear in her eyes but he didn’t have enough time to ask her more questions.

Andrew had no time to argue. He had to rush to the hospital. He wanted to see his grandmother as soon as possible. He wanted to know her condition and what exactly happened to her and why she was brought to the City Hospital.

He clicked his tongue and shook his head. He couldn’t believe that he ended up getting dragged into this woman’s situation and what he couldn’t understand more was the next thing that he had said to her.

“Come, sit in the front so I will not look like your driver,” he said as he shifted his gaze to the road. “I need to go to the hospital. Please be quick. My grandmother is there,” he added and as soon as the woman heard that, she immediately got out of the car and went to the passenger seat beside him.

The silence was inside the car. Through the rear-view mirror, he could see that the woman was just quietly looking outside of the car. He was wondering what was running inside her mind. Why was she being chased by the man? That’s one of the questions that was running inside his head but he didn’t have enough time for it. He had to go quickly to the hospital to check his grandmother. Andy just hung up without giving him all the information.

He tightened his grip to the steering wheel. They continued their way to the hospital without talking to each other. Just like earlier from the bar up to his apartment. Finally, they arrived at the hospital and he parked his car.

“Are you still in to do the task that you have promised to do for me in exchange of keeping you away from the man who’s after you?” He asked in a serious tone while looking at the woman after he turned off his car’s engine. He looked at the woman intently.

The woman nodded at him which surprised him. At least, she kept her words after he had saved her. But still that didn’t make her a unique one. Probably, she was just doing it to get him. To make him like her. He knew how to play the game that she wanted.

“Yes, of course,” she said without any hesitation. He almost raised one of his eyebrows. He couldn’t understand what this woman was really up to and why on earth she was being run after.

He couldn’t help but frown and think a lot of things about this woman. No one could blame him if he was starting to doubt her personality. She came out of nowhere. Andrew couldn’t deny that he was thinking that the woman might have planned everything, their encounter and that scene that she was being chased. She might be a member of a syndicate and wanted to rub him. Or probably, she was sent to destroy his reputation since he was a businessman. A successful businessman for that matter. He wanted to shake his head because of the thought that one of his competitors in the business might have sent the woman to trick him. An old trick to put him in trouble together with his business.

Andrew was well aware that a lot of men were looking up on him and at the same time wishing that they could be him. He was successful in the race that he had chosen and there was never a deal that he hadn’t closed. With his charm and wits, he could easily get what he wanted.

He smirked. If they felt like they had outwitted him, they have to think again. Andrew wouldn’t fall that easily to whatever they had planned. Women couldn’t be used as bait for him. Women were nothing but just a piece of shit. He could have them but they could never have him. He was never into a serious relationship except for his ex-girlfriend, Belinda. If it was not because of his grandmother’s condition, probably, he was already settled down with the woman. A dream that he had always inside his heart.

He could feel a pinch inside his chest. It has been five years and yet, the wound of their breakup was still fresh. The memories that he had with Belinda were still very vivid to him as if it all just happened yesterday.

Belinda Scott, she was his first love. His great love. She was everything to him. He had never been involved in a serious relationship except for her. When she was gone, no one had replaced her. Women for him were just created to satisfy him. They were just something that would fill his needs. This woman sitting beside him, even with her angelic face, she was just like those women who passed in his life. She could serve him in bed and after that, she could get out of his sight. He knew this kind of woman, if they refused to be gone, he just had to slap them with a huge amount of money and women wouldn’t resist such an offer.

He knew them so well. He could play with them in his hands. He could tell them to lick him from feet to head and he knew that they would be doing it.

Andrew took out his phone from his pocket and then started to dial a number. He was going to call his assistant.

It didn’t take long and the call was finally connected.

“Hello, Alan. Come here at the City Hospital,” he said.

“Okay, Mr. Hernandez,” his assistant said and then ended the call.

There was a deafening silence between them again inside the car. Andrew was just looking at the entrance of the hospital when all of a sudden, his eyes caught something.

His attention darted to the woman and the man who were getting inside of the hospital.

Suddenly, fear overwhelmed him. His heart started to hammer inside of him as he saw how the two people were hurriedly going inside the hospital.

Andrew immediately unbuckled himself.

“Get off,” he said in a domineering tone to the woman he didn’t even know the name of. He didn’t see when the woman was startled. She was obviously not used to being shouted at and being approached in a commanding tone. She’s like his secretary. Alan would act like that when the man knew that he was upset. Those were the times when Alan couldn’t pick up his instructions right away.

He didn’t even bother to look at the woman, but he could hear the sound of her shoes following him. Andrew went immediately to the emergency room. He roamed his eyes around until he finally saw the police officer talking to his brother and to his mother.

He could see the police officer’s forehead knitted when he noticed their arrival.

But Andrew was shocked when he heard what the police officer said.

“What are you doing here? We haven't called you yet.”
