Chapter 49 The Chess Game

"Life is like a game of chess. To win you have to make a move."

Julia spent a pleasant evening with James. The two of them were playing chess while having a casual discussion.

“Have you made the payment to the man?” Julia asked as she moved the pawn to get rid of another pawn. Her grandfather nodded.

“Yes, he did a great job.” He said shortly as he moved knight to get rid of a pawn.

“You know grandpa, a part of my consciousness feel sorry for that young woman. She is innocent, but she is unfortunate enough to be born as the daughter of such cruel and ruthless mother. I don’t want to hurt her, but I am sure she will be fine.” Julia replied as she made another move. James knew her grand-daughter had a kind heart and it must have been difficult for her to go against her own morality. But the near death experience she had must have made quite a traumatic impact on her as well.
