Chapter 40 Colten\'s Confession

The next morning, I decided that I needed to take a walk. I couldn’t be stuck in a room with Bruce all day after last night, what he did still hurts to even think about. I begin my walk down a tree-lined alley, being in nature always helps me calm down and escape reality for a few hours. I follow the path until I reach the top of the hill, where the view of the beach and sea fill my gaze. While looking at the beautiful scenery, I discover the peacocks from before playing around my feet, it was amazing being around here.

"He is spreading his tail feathers to demonstrate his affection to you." Colten’s voice says from behind me which does cause me to jump slightly, where I freeze just staring ahead.

I didn’t know what I was supposed to do in this moment, do I run away due to what happened last night? How would that look if I did run? I was much too afraid to turn around to look at his face, so I stood staring ahead trying to work out what to do.
