Chapter 3 Break Up

With the rogue's firm grip on the back of my neck, we slowly walk out of the storeroom. "Remember", he whispers in my ear, his teeth teasing my skin, "If you try to mind link him, I'd snap your neck." Gulping at his warning, I continue to walk in a slow pace.

My phone rang a few more times before it got disconnected. I bite my lower lip as I hear Harry bang the front door again, louder this time. The device starts ringing again when I refuse to let him mind link me. "Are you walking slow on purpose??", the male behind me growls, "So that your knight in shining armor breaks in and rescues you??"

"Y-You're hurt...", I remind him of his leg injury. I didn't get to see him yet but I could tell he's limping behind me and the strong scent of blood is telling me that he's badly wounded.

"I can still hunt you down in a second, princess", he whispers, sending soothing shivers down my spine. In contrast to his words, his voice had a soothing tone to it which calmed my nerves even in the given situation. I pick up some speed and lift up the phone, answering it. Harry's voice booms from the other side, making me almost yelp out, "Where the Hell are you?? Can't you hear me knocking?!" My lips quiver and my body trembles. My blood goes cold, freezing my fingers. Tears pool in my eyes and my throat feels dry.

"Answer me!!, he thunders. I tightly squeeze my eyes shut.

Suddenly the rogue presses his lips against my neck on the other side from the phone. A soft noise escapes my lips as I feel the sparks run through us and bring soothing warmth in my chest. I slowly open my eyes and lightly tilt my head to the side, giving him more access. I couldn't help it, my body craved his touch. His hand lets go off my neck to simply wrap around my waist. He nips on my flesh, reminding me of the phone in my hand. Sucking in a quick breath, I speak up, "I don't want you to come into the house."

"What??", Harry barks, "Have you lost your mind?!"

"No, I just have made a decision", I state as the rogue's warm lips move to my shoulder. I instinctively lean back against his firm chest, resting my head against his shoulder. "I don't want you. I appreciate all that you have done for me but I also think that I have spent enough money on you to repay you." My free hand subconsciously moves up and tugs onto the male's soft hair. All my burdens, all my fears seem to disappear with his lips on my hot skin. "In fact, I think you protecting me today was you paying me back for all I spent on your food, clothes and video games. I'm breaking up with you."

"Breaking up with me?? Have you lost your stupid mind?! You Need me!", Harry shouts from the other side

I ignore him as I try not to let out louder noises as the rogue sucks on a soft spot on my shoulder. I let out a soft sigh, "You can come back tomorrow morning to pick your belongings from the porch. I decided to give you a night to decide where to live without the burden of your luggage."

"Bitch!", he curses on the phone, "You wouldn't survive a day without me! You'll regret this so fast! A weakling like you wouldn't last even a night! You would soon come back begging on your knees!! And at that time, I'll grab your hair and bend you ove--" The rogue snatches the phone away, disconnecting it before Harry could finish his insults. I quietly look up at the hand in the air above my head, holding the device. The bulging muscles and veins in the dirty fair toned skin on his arm make me lightly gulp. Just then I hear a loud thud at the door and almost yelp again. The banging on the door got louder and I clutch my shirt, fearing that it would fly off its hinges.

With one last thud, the assault on the door stops and I could only imagine Harry striding away in rage. The male behind me pulls his lips away from my shoulder and softly chuckles, making butterflies flutter in my stomach. I feel his intense gaze on me from behind as he whispers, "I didn't expect you to be strong enough to even speak a single sentence without stuttering. You surprised me, princess." With that, he slowly lets go off me and steps back. I slowly and hesitantly turn around, fearing that he might go away, that this moment I have with my mate would shatter if I take any haste steps.

Turning around, my eyes finally meet his leaden orbs slightly covered with his long locks in the front that had escaped the rest which stayed perfectly in their place. I take a moment to take in the handsome specimen. His brown hair on the sides and lower back is trimmed short. There is a light stubble on his sharp jawline which brings out his beautiful lips out even more. My heart beats loud in my chest as I find myself shamelessly drooling over him. He was wearing only a pair of pants, leaving his muscular chest for my dilated pupils to feast on. The amount of scars that decorated his skin showed the years he had spent in war. My eyes slowly move up again only to find him staring at me with amusement evident in his peepers. I turn tomato red at being caught ogling at him. I quickly lower my head in embarrassment.

"You surprised me", he repeats before tilting his head to the side, "Or was it all fake?" I instantly turn my gaze to him again, confused. He smirks as he leans in, making my breath hitch in my throat. Inches away from my face, he continues, "Did you only warn him in code words? And now he would be returning with backup?" His eyebrow raises up.

"N-No...", I murmur, "I..didn't... I would never..."

"And why should I believe you, princess?", he asks before straightening his back and tilting his head up as he chuckles again, "Because of the 'Mate-loyalty'?"

I feel a sharp pain in my heart as he mocks the bond between us that I cherish and am desperately holding onto. Tears prick my eyes again and I avert my gaze. "Reject me..."

"What did you say?", he asks, shock evident in his voice. "Say it again!", he raises his volume, making me shudder. It was hard to say it the first time but now he wants me to repeat it. Ask for the one thing I feared my whole life once again. Ask him to reject and tear my soul apart. But there is no other way. It is clear that he is going to reject me anyway. I am no hunter, never was because my wolf couldn't chase after the prey but there is one thing I do know about it - Don't make the prey suffer. Kill it swiftly. Show mercy even when hunting. And that is what I am hoping for from him, a swift kill.

"Reject me...", I speak through the tears.

In a second, his hands grab onto my arms so tight that I almost cry out in pain but I bite my lip to stop myself. He growls as his eyes change, golden rings appearing around the orbs. "Reject you?!", his voice lightly changed to a dual tone as if two people are speaking at once and they were - he and his wolf. "So that you may run back to that boyfriend of yours??", he snarls close to my face but it doesn't scare me. It almost seems impossible to be afraid of him. "You listen to me!", he growls again, pulling me so close that our faces are inches away. "You are Mine! And Mine alone!"
