With hesitant steps and a kitchen knife in hand, Claire makes her way to the storeroom where the noise came from. The lights in the tiny room were off as usual yet the soft wind hitting her nose tells her that she had forgotten to shut the window. As she walks over to the window, the door shuts close behind her, making her yelp and turn around. She isn't alone. Before she could think of her next move, the brunette is pinned to the wall behind her by a firm grip on her neck.
She couldn't see the face of her attacker but his strong scent of rain mixed with the metallic smell of his blood hits her nostrils. Claire could tell the Rogue is smirking with his face so close to hers and as his grip tightens on her throat, her air supply gets cut short. Her lips quiver only to say one word, "..Mate..."

Nadia glances at me for the sixth time, "You sure you're okay?"


I just nod, not wanting to speak. We are already close to my house. Lifting my head up, I look at the house before turning to her, "We are here... I'll head in now..."


"I'm coming with you", she says but I shake my head. Alex doesn't know she is planning to come inside and he won't get enough time to use perfume around the place.


"No... I really feel tired, Nadia... I just want to go to sleep... Maybe next time...", my words make the redhead frown with concern but then she nods and heads in other direction.


Sighing, I walk over and open the door, entering in. I hear the TV playing in the living room and simply walk past the doorway. "You're back", my mate calls out from the room and I let out a hum before starting to climb up the stairs.


"Wait!", the rogue's voice rings from behind me and I freeze for a moment at his harsh tone before turning to look at him.
