With hesitant steps and a kitchen knife in hand, Claire makes her way to the storeroom where the noise came from. The lights in the tiny room were off as usual yet the soft wind hitting her nose tells her that she had forgotten to shut the window. As she walks over to the window, the door shuts close behind her, making her yelp and turn around. She isn't alone. Before she could think of her next move, the brunette is pinned to the wall behind her by a firm grip on her neck.
She couldn't see the face of her attacker but his strong scent of rain mixed with the metallic smell of his blood hits her nostrils. Claire could tell the Rogue is smirking with his face so close to hers and as his grip tightens on her throat, her air supply gets cut short. Her lips quiver only to say one word, "..Mate..."

I just stand frozen at the doorway as I find my brother standing by the bed, looking up at the rogue who had a cold facial expression. "T-Trevor...", I murmur and he turns to look at me.


"Sister, look! It's your mate!", the boy points at the male, "See? He loves you!" Trevor beams with a smile but my eyes flicker to meet Alex's unfazed gaze.


I slowly walk into the room before pulling the boy away from the rogue and closer to me, "I told you to stay in the living room.."


"I was but then I heard some noise come from upstairs and came to check if any bad wolf broke in.", Trevor answers and I shake my head.


"How would one break in from a window on second floor?", I whisper.


"What makes you think I can't?", Alex surprises me with his answer and I look at him again. "I can simply jump and climb up the window from outside."
