The Corpse Statue of L Street Part I

Edward Yoon stared at the files that their head gave him earlier during the meeting, this was the recent case happened yesterday. Marina Santiago, a registered nurse at L Hospital who was murdered while going home from work in the dark alley near the L City's Public Park. The only available evidence they have was the cctv around the area so they have to go to the place where the crime happened. "Detective Yoon, we're leaving." calling him a co-worker, Edward sighed and placed back tha file on his table. He will probably read it later. "Which reporter will cover the case?" he asked his colleague, the other shrugging his shoulders. "I think it might be reporter Park again." he said and gave Edward a meaningful look. "Why can you look like that?" The co-worker didn't answer him anymore and started walking towards the car that was waiting for them outside the office and Edward followed.

They have also arrived at the place where the crime happened, the police have cordoned it off so that no one passes by and destroys possible evidence. There is a possibility that this road may be closed because there have been many reports of theft but just now there was a murder, they went inside while wearing gloves, there are still traces of the complicated incident in the area and the blood of the dead nurse on ground. "Based on those who passed by, they said they just found the victim here and it looks like the killing happened at night." said Inspector Gwendolyn Salazar, who is now leading the investigation even though she is a woman, Edward admires her. "Do we have a possible suspect?" he asked his inspector friend, the woman immediately shook her head. "His friends and family said the victim had no enemies, so so far we don't have any suspects."

Edward sighed and looked around to find any evidence that had been used to kill the victim. "His belongings were at the station, I guess it was also a robbery but the suspect accidentally killed him and his money was not in his wallet either." Inspector Salazar added and followed Edward. "Does her name not sound familiar to you, Ed?" He stopped when the woman suddenly asked, yes they know each other since high school. They both went to the same school. "Marina Santiago?" Edward muttered under his breath as his eyes squinted trying to recall if he knew someone with that name. "I don't remember but maybe we met, I just don't know where." he said causing the inspector to sigh, "Maybe one of your college flings." joking about it, whether they admit it or not, Edward became a play boy in college.

Just now Edward remembered that he was near Sirius's apartment so he called him to say hello, he stood up properly then picked up the phone and dialed his friend's number. "Hello?" Sirius greeted from the other line, based on his tone he had just woken up. "Hey, how are you there? is your head doesn't hurt anymore?" he said softly. "Edward? I'm fine here, why did you get called?" Sirius said, imagining the young man frowning, "Nothing, I just wanted to check up on you and maybe you're not eating there causing you to pass out again. Julius, you know how to worry about ours." He heard Sirius laugh, because the reporter did the same to him every time he missed a meal and he got sick too. "By the way, I'm here in the alley near your apartment." he announced. "What are you doing there?" asked Sirius. "We are investigating the murder of a nurse." he heard something fall on the floor from the other line so he couldn't help but worry about his friend. "Sirius, are you okay? What's going on there?"

Nobody spoke for a few seconds and he was about to go to Sirius's apartment when he suddenly heard a voice from the other line, "I'm fine here, Ed. I just fell a little on the bed because I was still sleepy." Sirius explained, he wondered why the tone of Sirius' speech suddenly changed but he just ignored it and breathed a sigh of relief that his friend was okay. "I see, I'll take it down and let you sleep again. Goodbye!" he said and Sirius said goodbye, he put the phone in his pocket and went back to work, "Detective Yoon!" Inspector Salazar called him, "I forgot to inform you earlier that a mark was found on the victim's body, this is also additional evidence. It was placed on his arm." the inspector stated giving a picture to the detective. "S.K.?"

Sirius woke up again on his bed, it looks like he passed out again earlier while writing but his last worry was that he and Edward were talking on his cellphone, he stood up holding his head again because it suddenly hurt. He walked towards the kitchen to get his medical box, when he saw it he immediately took it and took medicine along with drinking a water. He waited a few minutes before the medicine took effect, he breathed a sigh of relief when the pain he felt disappeared so he sat on the couch to rest. His phone vibrated suddenly making his heart skip a bit and it was from an unknown number again, he sighed and reacted to the messages. "I have a gift for you, Open the television and enjoy watching the show my dear." after reading those he quickly turned on the Television.

His friend Julius Park appeared on the screen with his usual stern face as a reporter on a world-wide television network. He is reporting about what's happening in the L.A. "A body was found a while ago in the middle of L Fashion Street. Everyone thought it was just an ordinary statue placed in the middle of the road, but it wasn't because blood suddenly came out of its feet, so it was immediately informed to the police." a photo of a statue standing in the middle of the road on the pedestrian lane flashed on the screen, everyone also gathered around the statue while taking a photo of it. Many were amazed at the work of the unknown artist but everyone was shocked to know what it was before Sirius could continue the news he had already turned off the TV because his stomach could not bear to watch any more. Suddenly a memory entered his brain as if he was again at the place where the crime happened, it also occurred to him that he might be a witness. He thought cuts out as his phone vibrates again, a message from the head editor. "I liked the chapter that you had passed last night."
