The Corpse Statue of L Street Part III

Sirius returned to the publishing house because the head editor was calling him for the contract signing of his new novel. The secretary happily greeted him at the entrance and brought him to the meeting where the chairman and head editor were waiting for him. Sirius, who entered the room cluelessly because, in the first place, he didn't remember how he wrote the other chapters of the novel, sat in the empty seat opposite the executives and the contracts were already placed on the table. "Good morning, Mr. Kim." the chairman started to talk, the writer smiled at them then greeting back a good morning too. "That's why we called you again because we liked the new manuscript you submitted, so we're offering you an exclusive contract."

Sirius can't say no to this because this is his opportunity to meet a famous writer, and he carefully read everything written in the contract before signing. He thanked the head editor and the chairman for taking a photo of them shaking hands. "I will look forward to your new chapters in the novel, Mr. Kim, because even I want to know what is going on." He nodded in response.

Sirius recently left the publishing house, and now he has nothing to look forward to. He immediately called his friends to celebrate at a restaurant, "Hello, where are you?" He asked when Julius answered his call because he saw in their group chat that the two were arguing about where to meet, so he thought they were together. "I'm at Edward's Station because I got a scoop." Julius explained then continued,  "Why are you calling, is there something wrong?" Sirius' smile widened. "I just want to tell you that my new novel has been received, so I want to celebrate with you and Edward." He can imagine that Julius was smiling on the other line. "That's good to know, Sirius. "Just tell us what time to meet so I can get excuse from work."

Sirius replied, "Okay," before saying his goodbyes. For now, he will withdraw money first, so he is looking for a nearby ATM, or maybe he will just go to L Mall. He was busy observing his surroundings when suddenly someone hit him. "Ouch," he uttered as he grabbed his shoulder and then messaged him. "Are you okay?" The one who bumped into him asked him. Sirius looked at him when he saw who it was as if he had seen it before, but he couldn't remember where. "I'm sorry if I bumped into you because I was a bit busy on my phone," the man explained; Sirius just smiled. "It's okay, I'm not looking your way," he said, and was about to leave when the man grabbed his hand. "Why?" he asked, and the man just smirked at him. "You don't remember me?" Sirius wondered why the man suddenly asked him. "I'm sorry, but no, so please let go of my hand," he answered.

the man's grip on his hand tightened even more as he laughed. "Oh come on, Sirius Kim. It looks like this? You don't remember? Try to remember me next time, as for if that happened to me, I'd rather just forget." Sirius forcefully removed his hand from the stranger and glared at him, "Can you please let me go?! I don't know you so don't bother me." he exclaimed then left and continued searching for the ATM. In the evening, they met friends at a restaurant. "Congratulations on your new novel, Rius. I hope it becomes popular." Julius congratulated him and then gave a gift to his friend; Edward followed and handed his gift and hugged Sirius. "Thank you; I hope you didn't bother to buy it because your presence is okay with me," he said while smiling at his friends. Julius shook his head. "What are you like to others? You know we both want to give you a present." He said.

"Then that's your token too, because you've published a new novel." Edward added that they ordered food and then talked about what had been happening to them all day: "June Custudio is annoying because she always brags to me about her achievements." Julius complained, so the detective laughed and said, "You haven't gotten used to that; he was always arrogant in high school, and he didn't want you to know him." Sirius frowned.  "June Custudio?  "Was he our classmate in high school?" he asked, so the two looked at each other. "Ah, yes, maybe you just didn't remember." Julius said, and Edward then complained that they had a lot of work to do at the station, especially since the murders were one after another, so Julius joined in solving his case because he was also the one assigned to report; somehow it was easy work.

"By the way, what is the title of your book?" asked the reporter then picked up the phone and logged into the L famous reading portal, Sirius finished munching his food before answering his friend, "The Mystery Killer of the Night." after he mentioned that, Julius looked for the novel and Edward did the same, "I'll add it so I can read it when I have free time." Edward commented, they ordered dessert then continued the story and rested for a while. "I bumped into a guy a while ago, he asked me if I knew him. He's just weird." said Sirius who stopped the two, Julius gave Edward a meaningful look as if they were talking with their eyes. "Did he say what his name was?" Edward asked, "He is Myrus Kang, is he also our classmates in high school or college because I can't remember." said the writer while frowning.

"He was in a different section in high school, Rius." But you know each other because you are stubborn sometimes in seeking guidance." Edward said it jokingly. "Did he say anything else to you?" Sirius shook his head, "Nothing," he replied sparingly. They paid out and left the restaurant, but they didn't notice that there were eyes looking into their eyes while smiling. "You seem so happy, my dear."
