CH 186 Angel's Lair

I leaned in closer, a spark of anticipation in my eyes. "You know, I'm currently immersed in crafting another fanfiction set within the expansive DC universe. It's a thrilling amalgamation of everything I've learned over the past two years. Unlike this one, it's a fast-paced tale, with the main character experiencing their first kill in just the latest chapter No. 5. It takes a darker turn right from the beginning.

What sets it apart is the harem aspect. But rest assured, it's not your typical harem storyline. I've taken a unique approach to it that I think you'll find intriguing. If you're interested, do give it a read.

You can find it under the title 'Transcending Worlds: Overhaul in DC.'"

So go give it a Try

Peace Out.

Unlike Energy drains who could be overloaded with huge supplies of energy like electro or absorbing man there is a limit to them but there is no limit for blood suckers.

As it turns out their bodies heat up to burn away the excessive blood. So Jin next looked for any corpse of a vampire in the market but sadly it wasn't.

As Jin was about to give up he was reminded of the bloodthirsty bats who's bodies work in similar fashion.

Then Jin stumbled upon a solution, inspired by the physiology of BloodThirsty Bats. Their bodies heated up to burn away excessive blood after feeding, much like Vampires.

Jin decided to merge the two concepts, creating shadows that could collect blood samples and, for his personal amusement, perhaps even drain an opponent before they realized what was happening.

It was, after all, a matter of fun for Jin. The idea of a Dragon succumbing to a mosquito bite was amusing, of course it was only possible once they reached a rank of supreme general.

and collecting blood samples without detection was an added bonus. The underground bunker continued to buzz with the energy of scientific discovery as Jin contemplated the potential of his tiny, bloodthirsty shadows.

After successfully raising them as his shadow soldiers, Jin looked upon his new recruits with a nod of approval.

These were the weakest soldiers in his formidable army, their initial potential barely a flicker in the grand scheme of power.

[???: Lv.1]

Normal Grade…"

The status markers above each soldier's head displayed their current level, and it was clear that they were all at the lowest tier. Their strength, at this point, was inconsequential in the face of the challenges that lay ahead. And even RNG did no good for them.

A wry smile tugged at Jinwoo's lips as he observed their feeble beginnings. It would indeed take a considerable amount of time and effort before these novice soldiers could become even remotely useful in battles against formidable foes. But Jin harbored no doubts about their potential.

He envisioned a future where these fledgling soldiers, through relentless training and countless battles, would evolve into formidable fighters. They would rise from the depths of their current status to stand as mighty champions capable of taking on even the most fearsome of adversaries, including dragons.

Jin's determination burned brighter than ever as he thought about the journey ahead. He knew that with time and patience, these soldiers would grow to become a force to be reckoned with, contributing their strength to his ever-expanding dominion over the shadows.

As Jin turned to face the Doctor, he couldn't help but notice the gleeful expression on the scientist's face. It was a look reminiscent of a delighted puppy, basking in the praise it had received for a job well done.

"Now, why don't you return those gloves to me, Doctor," Jin said, his eyes locking onto the white-blue gloves adorning the scientist's hands. Those gloves were no ordinary pair; they were the Perfector, a Teigu Jin had entrusted to the Doctor for a very specific purpose. Without them, the delicate operation on the minuscule 4mm mosquito-like creatures would be impossible, and the entire experiment could risk failure.

The Hands of God Perfector, a remarkable Teigu, possessed unparalleled capabilities for precision and control, making it the ideal tool for intricate operations at a microscopic level.

Hearing his lord's request, the Doctor didn't hesitate for a second. He swiftly removed the gloves, careful not to damage them, and extended them toward Jin. These gloves were not just a tool; they were a critical component to his 'build' and to procedure that lay ahead.

As the gloves returned to Jin's grasp, he wasted no time in equipping them using the system's equip function.

Unlike a traditional change of attire, Jin's hands didn't physically change. Instead, they were seamlessly integrated through the metaphysical realm, ensuring a perfect fit without even showing. He clenched his fists and nodded, feeling the full extent of the Perfector's power surge through him.

'It feels good to have them back, without them my swordsmanship and fighting style gets real bad,' Jin thought, appreciating the return of his capabilities as he felt his whole body was back with to sink of Perfector..

"Again, great work, Doctor," Jin commended, acknowledging the scientist's crucial role in the experiment's success. "But we'll be heading out now."

With a series of concise commands, all the shadows that had been standing around in the laboratory began to transform. Like liquid, they flowed back into Jin's shadows, merging seamlessly with their master's essence.

Before leaving, Jin carefully opened the door to his sister's room.

As it was still in the early hours, Jin-Ah remained blissfully stuck in a slumber so deep that she'd not be any wiser if someone kidnapped her right now.

Suddenly, he felt worried.

'There might be a jacka*s or two who'll try to get closer to her while I'm away.'

Of course, there should be no one stupid enough to harm the little sister of two rank S Hunters, but well, it was hard to tell what was in a human's heart sometimes after all humans are foolish spices.

At least, he needed some sort of a contingency plan as he plan to let the Soldiers he left with her and level them up besides Kuro as she knew about Kuro and she seems to enjoy the presence of the little dogo.

'Come out.'

Jin called out those monster soldiers that had been guarding 'Tusk' when they were still alive.

Shururu….

Four of the biggest, burliest High Orcs appeared simultaneously and ended up making the already huge room of his sister feel tiny claustrophobic.

Jin smirked softly, before shifting his gaze over to the three monster soldiers, who used to be High Orc guards while still alive. All of them were Knight grade.

They were on another scale altogether when compared to the shadows extracted from the 'regular' High Orcs. With these four and Kuro, they would still be fine even if their opponent was S- rank Hunter.

He wasn't exaggerating here – the leader of the Hunters' raid team, the rank A Sohn Ki-Hoon, was pushed to a corner while fighting off three regular High Orcs, after all.

So, there was no reason to worry about these guys.

Jin pointed with his chin towards the sleeping Jin-Ah. And when that happened…

Shururu….

The guards returned to 'shadow' forms and moved along the floor, and they assimilated into her shadow.

'Very good.'

Hide there quietly, and when Jin-Ah finds herself in danger, get rid of the opponent, regardless of who it is.

Jin gave that order to the guards and then called out the shadows who he left with her last time then carefully closed the door to her room.

'I can relax a little now. As They would be able to handle any opponent until Esdeath arrives'

Indeed, he felt less worried as he did the same with his mom and even left one shadow in Esdeath's shadow just in case.

Then he made sure to lock the front door properly and exited from the apartment, and found Yoo Jin-Ho waiting for him there, just as promised.

"Hyung-nim!"

Yoo Jin-Ho greeted Jin with a bright face.

"Was it okay sleeping in that place?"

"Yes, it was fine, Hyung-nim. I had no idea, but motels nowadays seem to feature pretty good amenities."

Since three females were staying at home, Jin had Yu Jin-Ho stay in a local motel nearby as he didn't want to make this awkward with an unknown man suddenly living with them as inside his home ladies didn't care about what they were wearing, watching or even eating.

And Thankfully, it must not have been too bad there.

"Until we can find some office space for my Guild, stay there for the time being."

"Got it, hyung-nim."

He must've been enjoying himself, since Yoo Jin-Ho continued to giggle.

Jin already heard most of what happened from the kid last night. While listening to the tale, he was hoping against hope, but to think, this kid would show up here after really rejecting the golden chance to become a Guild Master…..

When he heard that, Jin was a little dumbfounded that he just had to ask, and that prompted Yoo Jin-Ho to reply while sounding like a victim.

["You really came over just because I made an offer?!"]

["But, hyung-nim, you said I should come!!"]

Even then, Jin couldn't really kick the curve of a kid who gave up on a job equivalent to being a chairman of a company just to be next to him.

"Okay, well, let's go."

"Yes, hyung-nim."

Yoo Jin-Ho climbed into the Laferrari's driver seat, and Jin settled down on the co-driver seat. And the van containing two people drove towards the outside of Seoul.

Yoo Jin-Ho sneaked a glance at Jin-Woo.

'What business does he have outside of Seoul, the capital and largest city of South Korea. so early in the morning?'

He was curious, but he also thought that asking hyung-nim this and that would be quite insolent of him, so his lips didn't want to part that easily.

The early morning light began to pierce through the dark curtains of the car, casting a soft, golden glow on Jin and Yoo Jinhoo as they continued their conversation. The city was slowly waking up around them, but their focus remained unwavering on the guild business at hand.

Jin squinted as the sun broke through, "Jinhoo, this transition needs to be seamless. Esdeath is more than capable, but she'll need your support. I want you to learn from her during this time. She excels in these matters even more than you and me combined."

Jinhoo adjusting his grip on the steering wheel, "I understand, hyung-nim. I'll do my best to cooperate with her and absorb as much as I can. But this is still a bit unexpected."

Jin smirks "Life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges at us, my friend. This is just one of those moments. And don't worry she won't kill you if you remain respectful to her just how you treat me. Treat her like a formidable person who conquers my heart, and I have no doubt you'll be able to learn many things from her"

The car continued its journey through the city's quiet morning streets. Jin and Jinhoo exchanged thoughts, ideas, and strategies, mapping out the path forward for the guild.

Jin: "Remember, Jinhoo, you'll be adding yourself as a co-leader. It's essential for the guild's image and stability. But she and I are the face of the guild when dealing with the outside world."

Jinhoo: "Understood, hyung-nim. I'll make sure the transition is smooth, and I'll keep myself in check."

Jin: "And one more thing, Jinhoo. Trust her. She's dedicated to our cause, and she won't betray us. Her loyalty or should say runs so deep that it can't even be put in words you will be guide to her."

As the city slowly came to life around them, Jin and Jinhoo solidified their plans for the guild's future. The early morning hours were a time of transition and transformation, and the destiny of the guild hung in the balance.

Jinhoo was determined after hearing it "I won't let you down, hyung-nim. The guild will thrive, even in your absence."

Jin nodded "I have no doubt about that, Jinhoo. Together, you and Esdeath will be able to handle guild business establishment quite well.

With their plans set and their determination unwavering, Jin and Jinhoo continued their journey into the morning light.

Screech.

By the time their van came to a stop in front of the desolate city dump area, though, he managed to work up some courage.

"By the way, hyung-nim. What about you…."

"I'm off."

"Eh?"

Yoo Jin-Ho hurriedly turned his head to the co-driver's side. However, the door was already wide open, and hyung-nim was nowhere to be seen.

Didn't something similar to this happen before?

Yoo Jin-Ho scratched the side of his head.

'Hyung-nim can be so elusive sometimes, you know.'

*Jin POV*

I stood in front of an abandoned building. With nothing beside an open area around this was a place where a A+ rank Dungeon break happened and ever since then the place became a dumpster for the whole city.

It was currently very early in the morning, and there was practically no one in the area. The absence of humans created a gloomy atmosphere and anxiety with fear of the unknown. Of course, I didn't feel any of it.

'But just in case…'

I looked around and lowered the hood over my head tightly. If someone saw a man disappear into thin air without a Gate in sight, it would surely cause a disturbance.

I retracted the hand that I was holding out.

'It's connected to the outside. Just like before'

The key also disappeared as soon as I used it, unlike what happened in Demon castle.

'Alright, so if Demon Castle was supposed to give me something I wanted which was cure for OG Jin's mother.'

But this is going to give me something I needed and it's not 'Jin' but it's for me as it wasn't in the story just like many things I came into contact with.

So what I need at this moment is a big question. After all, I need many many things/Women and I am sure can't even give me one present of what I need but let's hope it's something good.

So I am stuck here until I clear this dungeon. It's good to know even if I didn't have any plans to come out.

Unlike Demon Castle Angel's Layer which could only be used one time.

Or maybe it's the nature of both gates where a Demon could be opened any time an angel could open only one time because of some kind of limitations that I am unaware of.

After all, Demons teleported to this tower just for the sake of the instant dungeon. Maybe angels are far from the reach of the system.

So only one time. And in a way, I was never supposed to have this key which again proves that I am creating ripple effects.

Plus mythology vise makes sense, after all, you can call upon the power of demons as many times as you want with just some "Satanic rituals" but on the other hand calling angels summoning them or even using their power isn't as easy as "Demons".

'Oo well….here we go again'

As I spin the key in the thin air.

"…"

It was a scenery that invited despair.

[You have entered Angel's Lair dungeon.]

Moments ago, when I took a few steps toward the empty place, the world before my eyes changed in an instant.

In front of me was an entirely new world.

Instantly, I found myself transported to a place that seemed nothing short of a surreal paradise. The radiant sun hung high in the sky, casting its golden rays upon a path that stretched before him. If ever there were words to describe heaven, this would undoubtedly be it—a realm bathed in an ethereal glow, where every detail seemed meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of divine wonder.

As he stepped onto the path, he couldn't help but marvel at the sheer opulence of the surroundings. The buildings that adorned this heavenly realm were a testament to grandeur, their exteriors adorned with glistening white and gold accents that shimmered in the sunlight. They appeared to float atop clouds that were unexpectedly solid, defying the laws of physics in this celestial realm.

In the distance, a magnificent golden gate rose to view, serving as a majestic focal point of this otherworldly landscape. Towering and ornate, it seemed to lead to a realm beyond imagination. Yet, guarding the entrance stood a colossal armored angel, its presence formidable and awe-inspiring. It stood as the gatekeeper, its eyes vigilant, and its wings outstretched in a protective stance.

Amidst this heavenly scene, my attention was drawn to a familiar figure soaring gracefully above the path.

white wings and golden talons. Like other Angels, they too sport a humanoid face, although theirs is located at the nape of their long necks. Almost like a hood, it gives them the appearance of protruding out of the human mouth.
