Candace stared out the window with her hands clenched by her side, observing as the sun rose from the east, waking lazily from its slumber. She had phased from crying to being furious now. The veins in her neck standing out in livid ridges could attest to that. Stephan had hurt her and with the adrenaline rush surging through her veins, she vowed to make him pay. Repeating the words as if to reassure herself, Candace softened slightly when she felt Penny’s arms snaking about her slowly.
“He took my husband from me. That lying bastard!” She screamed through clenched teeth, tearing up again.
“I know, but dad would want you to let go — for your own sake” Penny fully embraced her from behind. It was easy for her to say. After all, she had not been with him long enough. He died when she was a kid, and her memories with him were all hazy now.
