Mistaken Identity

Art walked back to where he’d left Kira.

She immediately ran toward him the moment he came into view.

Art could tell that staying alone was still very uncomfortable triggering for her after everything she’d gone through.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

She simply nodded, and they both left the area together.

Art's next destination was to find an artifact blacksmith.

Unlike weapon blacksmiths, who worked on creating or recreating weapons and armor, artifact blacksmiths handled other magical items—like the masks he had. Some blacksmiths were skilled enough to excel in both areas.

But there was no way he’d find a good blacksmith in this place. He needed to go deeper into the city, to the mage districts—and taking Kira with him wouldn’t be ideal.

"Umm... Kira. I have to go to the main city. Do you know which teleportation station leads there?"

She described the directions for him. "I'm guessing I can't go with you?"
