A day with Zareth.

When they arrived at Zareth's room, Elena could see there was a big difference between her room and that of zareth's. for one thing, there were different machines all over the place. There was also a wide screen on the wall that was 3x wider than the TV screens on earth.

"Well, ladies, make yourselves comfortable while I fix us all something to eat." After saying this, he left them and entered into the kitchen. Since it was a v.i.p room, he also had a kitchen. Elena, on the other hand, had no use for a kitchen as she depended solely on the food from the canteen.

Emiera stood up and turned on the big screen, Elena was partly expecting to see a news channel or something of that sort, but to her surprise the screen was actually for a video game, were the characters can choose an avatar of choice and fight with various opponents, it was a live game were one can also have live conversations with their opponents.

After turning on the screen, she gave Elena an eyeglass, "Take, put this on, and it will automatically connect you to the gaming world."

Em, I think I'll pass on that, I'm not a fan of video games. You too carry on, I'll just watch from the side. She responded.

She watched as Emeira and Lydia both chose their in-game avatar, and they both proceeded to pair up as a team of two before selecting their opponents. While fighting in the game, Elena noticed Emeira could use her wind abilities in the game, while Lydia was randomly assigned an ability, one she could barely use.

From Elena's observation, a person can use their abilities inside the game, while one without an ability would be given a random one, and this fascinated her greatly.

"I'm back, ladies," Zareth announced as he made his way into the large room. Elena could smell the sweet aroma of the lightly grilled meat as she drooled.

turning her head to the side, she could see Zareth holding two plates of grilled meats. The meats were neatly diced into smaller portions. On each plate were two forks.

since Emiera and Lydia were busy fighting in the game, Zareth kept their food on the table. sitting next to Elena, he handed her a fork, and they both started eating from the same plate.

"Wow, for a vampire, you certainly know how to cook." Elena said with her mouth stuffed with meats. seeing her like this, Zareth chuckled lightly. "For a vampire, you say, huh?" he said with a raised eyebrow.

"Em," she said before pausing. After a while, she continued. "You know, I haven't always been a vampire, I was a human for most part of my life until a few weeks ago. So, judging from the meat I've had since my stay in zastlevania, I will say you're pretty much a good cook for a vampire."

After sharing this piece of information with zareth, dracula kept complaining inside her head. From the way he was sounding, it was obvious he didn't want her to share this piece of information with anyone.

"You're kidding, right? Zareth asked with his eyes wide open. Elena shook her head, indicating she meant everything she had just said.

Zareth's next action surprised her greatly,placing the plate on the table, zareth moved in and gave Elena a hug. " What was that for?" she asked.

"Turning a human into a vampire is not an easy task. Anything could go wrong, there's a high chance you might turn into an undead which will only make matters worse, or You could as well die in the process, not to mention the pain associated with turning someone, so I was obviously concerned and I got carried away."

hearing his reason, she relaxed a bit. "I'm sorry if I overstepped my boundary." he finally said, his cheeks had gone from being pale to looking red as tomatoes. Obviously, he felt embarrassed. seeing this, Elena began laughing.

To light up their mood, he suggested they play the video game too, but elena declined. "Do you know I created this game and the other devices present in this room? he asked elena.

"No way," she responded with a look of surprise. I'm serious, I've always loved science. As a kid, I started inventing various devices, equipments and machines. he said with a genuine smile on his face.

"If inventing is where your heart is at, why then are you in the warrior academy? Wouldn't it be better if you focused on your inventions?" She asked.

"it's easier said than done, as one from noble descent, my life and path has already been decided,before I was born." While saying this, elena could see the sad look on Zareth's face. it was obvious he didn't like the life his family had planned for him.

She stood up from the couch and asked zareth to give her a quick tour and also for him to tell her about the function of all his inventions. she wanted to cheer him up, so she had asked this of him, ordinarily she could easily use her scrutiny skill to find out any information about his invention,if she wanted to.

They all stayed together until late in the evening before returning to their various rooms. since she came to Zastlevania, this was the first time she had let loose a bit and genuinely enjoyed the company of others without being on guard , and she enjoyed the feeling.

knowing she had a long day ahead of her tomorrow, she began sorting through her storage devices. First, she started with the one Alacad had given her. Here, she placed 15 of the blood flasks she had collected from Gerald's office. She also placed different outfits into this device as well as the weapons alacad had initially placed in the device that she felt she really didn't need.

moving on, she placed the remaining 15 blood flask in the storage ring. She also placed the claymore, the sword of flame, and the pair of dagger that had the lightning ability as well as the dimension hopper device she got earlier into the storage ring.

She was about to place the Armour set into the storage ring when she got notification from the system.

[Ding]

System notification.

Host can place a mark on the dragon set Armour for easy equipping method. does host wish to mark the Armour set? Yes/No.

After reading the notification, she picked the yes option, and immediately, a white colour light engulfed the entire Armour set.

After some seconds, the Armour set disappeared with the light. seeing the Armour set was no longer present in the room, she quickly opened up her system screen. she began checking each tab carefully, and then she noticed a new tab had been created.

the new tab was named "Marked." opening up the tab, she could see the equip option, so she decided to click on it and see how it works.

the moment she clicked on the option, the same white light as earlier engulfed her entire body. the next thing she saw was the armour set completely equipped on her body.

smiling to herself, she reopened the tab, and she uneqquip the armour. she lay on her bed, thinking about how easier her life would have been if she had had the system while she was still a human.

She lay on her bed for the remaining part of the night resting and reminiscing her time with zareth earlier.
