The Three years Quest!

AUTHORS NOTE:UNEDITED CHAPTER.

Upon the nomination of Alacad as the new king of Zastlevania, Lord Antoine decided it was best for him to return back to his ward Arwin, as his presence here in the third city would no longer be of any great significance, not until it was the coronation day anyway.

while Antoine was considering his next cause of action, Alacad was grinning from ear to ear. Finally, no one would be able to stand between him and absolute power.

Standing up, he began to speak, "Seeing how you all have decided to make me your new king, the very first vampire king has strengthened my resolve to give my best and all to make zastlevania a place of equality and peace, under my reign I will make sure we triumph over any and every other race and lifeforms in the universe, the vampires will reign supreme over all."

After saying this, the other lords smiled and cheered as a way of showing their approval and absolute support to their new king, All except Lord antoine.

The coronation was set to take place seven days later, and with this, the meeting between the seven Lords was concluded. while Alacad was being fawn over by the other lords in order to gain favour from him, Antoine stepped out of the court with his guard.

Shameless, so shameless, how low has the vampire lords become? electing a schemer as a king, isn't that courting death? how many vampires would lose their life in order for that selfish alacad to accomplish his plans? Antoine wondered.

As if on queue, he heard a beeping sound *beep * beep * beep. hearing the sound of his communication device, a deep frawn appeared in Antoine's face. he was already in a bad mood. Whoever it was that was unlucky enough to disturb him at this very moment must be courting death.

he brought out the device from his storage ring, tapping the screen gently, a holographic display of instructor Gerald was visible, seeing that the one who had interrupted him at this very moment was none other than instructor Gerald, Antoine face eased a bit, knowing very well that the former wouldn't call him unless the situation warranted it.

Seeing Lord Antoine's face in the other end Gerald was unable to control himself, as if he was going to die the next moment he quickly blurted out, "my lord, Elena and some of the volunteers are back, they didn't bring back a wyvern but an antidote instead, and after administering the antidote the young miss has made a huge recovery."

Lord Antoine was taking aback by the pace at which the lead instructor Gerald had blurted out those words, one would think he was on the verge of dying or something very bad had happened back in the first city considering how the later had forgotten to great Lord antoine properly which in itself was an act of disrespect, and could lead to being punished.

"Gerald, you mean, not only did the volunteers succeeded, but they also brought back an antidote? what about arwin? Is she awake now?" Lord Antoine quickly asked, this was the best news he had gotten for awhile now, and right now he was less bothered about the fact that Gerald had disrespected him by not greeting him properly as required by law.

"Ah yes! Lord antoine, they're back, and the young miss is awake, but she's relaxing at the moment, I rushed to inform you as you had instructed me to let you know if anything serious arises."

" I see. You have done well. Make sure the volunteers are well taken care of, I'll be with you shortly."

After instructing Gerald, he turned his attention to the guard that was with him, giving a series of instructions, and not long, the guard was off, quickly making preparations for their return to the first city.

Back in the first city, Elena and the others were being treated as heroes already. Upon their arrival, Gerald had quickly taken them to the castle of the first Lord, Lord Antoine.

There they saw Arwin, she lay motionless on the bed, her figure was thin and her skin looked paler than before, she looked nothing like she did before, if anything she was skinnier and one could tell she was close to dying, a thin green line layed horizontally in the upper and lower part of her lips, indicating that the poison of the wyvern had already eaten deep into her body. the bright pink colour of her hair was faint and lighter than the usual shade.

Seeing her like this, looking weak and powerless, reminded elena of the very reason why she needed to get stronger. In this world, only true power and strength will guarantee ones safety.

Arwin was a very powerful vampire mage, one who specialises in blood manipulation. For a young vampire, she was extremely talented, and one could even compare her to a genius, yet she was reduced to this state.

And without a powerful backer like Lord Antoine, it was right to conclude that arwin would have been dead by now.

Shaking her head, Elena made a vow to herself that she would stop at nothing until she became one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Right after making that vow, she felt a sudden jolt in her mind, and a system notification opened up in front of her.

System notification: Long-term quest issued! quest description: Grow stronger and become the most powerful vampire in the universe.

Duration: 3 years.

failure: Death.

rewards : Hidden.

seeing the content of the quest left elena in a daze. to think the stupid system would issue a quest just because I made a vow, Elena felt conflicted, how did the system expect her to become the most powerful vampire in the universe within the space of 3 years?

one should know that the vampires have lived for hundreds of years, compared to the others, like the vampire lords and other vampires of noble blood. elena was a mere baby and a weakling.

if not for the system and for Dracula giving her sudden boost ever since she became a vampire, she knew she would be unable to rival even the most weak vampire in Zastlevania, to think the system only gave her 3 years to complete the quest, isn't that a death sentence in it self? There's no difference between courting death and this Quest issued by the system.

it's not as if the stronger vampire would sit idling by without practising during this 3 years period, so how was she meant to grow stronger than these ones who were already way ahead of her? she wondered.

"Instead of complaining, you might as well work hard and complete the quest, the reason I have always ask you to get stronger is because if you don't become one of the most powerful figure very soon, you might as well die, because you will encounter thousands of people who would try to kill you before the next 3 years. either ways if you don't get stronger, the only option that awaits you will be death."

hearing Dracula's voice, elena was stunned. "Hnm, will you die if you encourage someone for once? elena asked. [sigh] Dracula sighed as if defeated, I only pointed out the obvious truth. If that isn't encouragement, I don't know what else is. dracula said.

Shaking her head, elena decided to focus her attention on the others since she wasn't the only one in the room with Arwin, not long after, they were all ushered into their various rooms while the antidote was used in treating arwin.

upon seeing how effective the antidote was, lead instructor Gerald quickly made a call through to Lord Antoine, informing him of the significant improvement which resulted in his lack of manners while communicating with Lord Antoine, he was way too carried away with the good news that he forgot to greet the Lord properly, luckily the latter was also more concerned with the good news, thus saving Gerald from a whole lot of trouble.
