Back to the third city.

AUTHOURS NOTE: UNEDITED CHAPTER.

After sorting out her affairs with Alacad, Elena lay on her bed while making mental notes of her future plans.

unable to relax, she stood by the giant window in her room as she looked to the sky reminiscing about what it was like back on earth, her mind wandered back to the times when she would visit the local clubs with her friends.

It all seemed like a distant memory now, sighing helplessly she shook her head before returning to her bed once more.

The time went by slowly, and after what seemed like an eternity, it was finally a new day. Elena decided to wash up before heading to the teleportation room.

while dressing up, she heard a gentle knock on the door. Without saying a word, she continued dressing up. A few moments later, she opened up the door, and she saw zareth and the others all standing in front of the door.

With a raised eyebrow, she commented, "You guys are up so early." Ah yes, we thought it would be best for us to go with you since we still have to journey back to the third city anyway. Lydia responded.

Hnm, Elena contemplated for a while before saying nonchalantly, "You lots can do whatever you want so long you dont get on my way."

upon hearing her response and seeing the nonchalant look on her face, every single one of them couldn't help but wonder if elena had a split personality.

just yesterday she had referred to them as her friends even declaring boldly that she would do anything to save them just as she had done for arwin, but right now she was acting like an ice queen with an unphantomable aura.

oblivious to their thoughts, Elena was hurling curses at Lydia in her heart. "Go with me? go your head! you're supposed to keep the fact that I have connections in the third castle a secret, but not only did you convince the others to come with me you also have the guts to tell me about it with a smile on your face, how on planet zuk am i supposed to carry out my plans with you guys present?."

Elena kept rambling on and on in her mind as they made their way to the teleportation room. The moment they stepped into the room, they saw a few servants whose jobs were overseeing the use of the teleporters.

After confirming their destination, a chubby looking man quickly imputed some codes on the teleporters before ushering all five of them to step into the teleportation portal.

one moment Elena could feel the tingling effect on her skin as the brilliant light engulfed her, the next moment she walked out on the other side, much to her surprise this time around instead of arriving at a general teleportation stop, they were all teleported to the teleportation room in Alacads Castle.

upon Seeing the large portraits in the teleportation room they just arrived in the others were surprised as they had expected to be teleported to a general teleportation sport, all except Elena and lydia were surprised, for they both knew they were in the third castle.

Seeing the vintage and old theme of the castle, elena cursed at Lydia once again in her mind. just perfect, few minutes ago she was still thinking of a way she would ditch the others in the third city before making her way to the castle now they just had to be teleported to the castle, how was she going to ditch them now under these circumstances. she wondered as she sighed deeply.

If anything, she didn't want to give Alacad the impression that she cared about zareth and the others, and she also didn't want him to know how close they were together less the former might use them to get to her some day.

Shaking her head, she decided to go with the flow for now. the moment the guards present in the room saw Elena, they bowed slightly, as they all echoed in unison. " we pay respect to the young miss."

Elena nodded her head in acknowledgement as she asked, "Where is Lord Alacad?" The guards quickly informed her about Alacads whereabout and that he was expecting her in his hall.

Upon seeing how the guards had treated Elena and how they had referred to her as "young miss," Aruh and the others were stunned.

When Elena had asked about Alacad with the same nonchalant expression as she had done when talking to them, they all felt like they were going crazy. her actions left their jaws opening wide in surprise.

Aruh couldn't help but wonder who elena was exactly and why he hadn't heard of her before their time in the academy.

surely, one who could command respect among the royal guards wasn't just a simple vampire as elena had led others to believe in the academy.

This way, please, the guards said as they ushered elena and the others out of the teleportation room.

Entering into the large hall that was filled with vintage interior decorations and invaluable antiques, they all saw a giant throne in the middle of the room.

seated on the throne was none other than Alacad, plastered on his face was a wide grin that made him look cute and innocent, which was a sharp contrast from his personality as noted by elena.

while others might get fooled by Alacad, Elena already knew better than to trust the former simply because of his charming and dashing look.

gracefully, Elena walked up to Alacad with her head held up high, not showing any hint of fear whatsoever. She gently smiled as she gracefully approached his throne.

When she was close enough, she bowed slightly and then said, "It's good to be back home, my Lord Alacad."

Elena, knowing fully well that she is required by law to show Alacad more respect as a Lord, still decided to test the waters by only bowing slightly and not greeting him properly.

Also, the fact that Alacad was the new nominated vampire king is enough reason for elena to show him more respect, but Alas all she said was, "It's good to be home."

From the moment they all entered into the large hall, Zareth and the others upon seeing Alacad All knelt down as a way of paying respect to the newly elected king, not daring to stand.

on the other hand, not only did Elena walk up to the king, but she only addressed him as lord, and without greeting him, she moved forward to say it's good to be home. zareth felt like face palming at this point. how Audacious can one be to address a king in such manners.

could it be that something was wrong with their friend, or was she simply courting death? they wondered. only for them to get the shock of their lives when Alacad paid no heed to Elenas' lack of character.

The former had a cute smile on his face upon seeing elena, and no matter what the latter seemed to do, he was unbothered about it.

"It's finally good to have you back, HOME, elena." Alacads voice boomed in the hall as he emphasised on the "home." Upon seeing that alacad didn't react to her actions, Elena smiled wildly.

If anything she needed to start letting alacad know that she wasn't a pushover, while she would act like she will support him in the surface, she also realised that it would do her no good if she acted like a coward before him. So she would keep testing the waters around Alacad and see how far she can get. she thought.

turning around slightly, she gestured to the others that were still bowing to Alacad, " Lord Alacad, these are my colleagues from the academy, we recently completed a mission together, upon realising I was coming to the third city they decided to tag along to show their support for the crown and Zastlevania's new king."

"I see!" Alacad said. This time around, the grin on his face was replaced with a sharp gaze that inspected the others like an eagle inspecting its prey.

feeling the intense gaze of Alacad upon them, they all greeted Alacad in unison, "paying respect to King Alacad, the first vampire king. Long may you reign." nodding his head in approval, Alacad ordered a guard to show them to the guests' rooms.

"Come, Elena, take a walk with me." Alacad said as he stretched out his hand, gently holding Elena's left hand with his right hand as he led her into a private room.
