"Wow, that was close! I was afraid I took it a bit too far for a moment there...your physiology is truly freaky, thankfully. It would have been a shame to lose such a valuable lab rat. Still, how intriguing. That was enough pain to cause you to briefly die of shock...and then you promptly came back to life in a matter of seconds," Remarked Alok in fascination.
"Are you done yet?" I muttered in response.
"Hm...I guess that's enough for today. No need to overdo it, I've killed your spirit quite significantly at this point. But you do still have a habit of talking back, so we'll pick up where we left off tomorrow," He replied, as he undid my restraints.
"Great, I can hardly wait," I sighed dryly, as I got off the operating table, grimacing as I briefly felt the pain triggered by the chip.
He got himself a remote to manually trigger the chip whenever he feels like it, and I've been subjected to daily torture for quite a while lately.
I train in the morning and get tortured in the afternoon...but the rest of the day is great, I get to chill in a cold, empty room with a paper thin mattress and a toilet that's in open view.
It's amazing, I bet they must have modeled the room after a five star hotel or something. Oh, you think I'm being sarcastic? I can't imagine what might have given you that impression.
I wonder how long I've been here...after I was brought to this research facility, I've completely lost track of time. At this point, I've all but given up on trying to regain my freedom.
I've tried to remove the control chip so many times, but no matter what the approach, it's just not possible. I've even tried killing myself, but all the injuries I inflicted on myself healed right away. I then figured out how to suppress my healing, and managed to cut off my head, but my head then reconnected back to my neck on its own, bringing me back to life.
And now, to prevent me from trying that again, they've adjusted the control chip to trigger if I attempt suicide again, so I have no escape. They've had me train relentlessly, and lately I've killed all of my trainers without too much trouble.
It's the only escape I have from this nightmare...the rush I get from those fights, it helps me forget all this and gives me some respite, if only for a brief moment.
They've also been testing out a wide variety of poisons and viruses on me, as well as exposing me to several different diseases, building up my body's tolerance and letting me recover from those toxins more quickly.
This is probably going exactly how they're desiring...slowly but surely, my spirit is getting crushed, it won't be long before there's nothing left.
And with all the restrictions placed on me with the control chip, I have no choice but to obey their every command.
Anyway, as I headed back to my room and headed in, the door automatically locking as I entered, I let out a slight sigh as I caught whiff of a strange scent and felt a faint dizziness hit me.
Another poison gas, huh? Great.
I walked over to my bed and laid down, staring up at the ceiling as my vision began to spin a bit. Huh, actually, whatever poison this is, it isn't too bad. I do feel a bit tingly, but mostly relaxed and drowsy.
Oh, it's starting to fade. I then closed my eyes and focused, trying to stop my healing from doing its thing. I stopped practicing after they took measures to prevent me from killing myself, but I've still got a feel for how to do it. Come on, resist it...suppress it down and keep a lid on it.
There we go, I'm getting a stronger grasp over it...almost there, just a little more-...oh, I lost my grip over it. The effect of the poison is fading rapidly...too bad, I was starting to enjoy it.
Once my body recovers from a poison, I build up a resistance towards that specific poison. So whatever this poison is that's filling my room, it won't have much of an effect on me after this.
I then reached for the back of my neck and touched at the spot where the control chip had been implanted...this tiny square is the only thing between me and my freedom. But there's absolutely nothing I can do about it...
...
...
"It's time for the next step in your training. Your killing prowess has improved at an encouraging rate, but it's far from enough...it's time to see how you fare against guns," Remarked Alok, as he pushed me into the training room.
There wasn't a human trainer like usual, instead there were several robots in the room, with wheels beneath them and guns attached to their arms.
"You want me to destroy these robots?" I muttered, as the machines got activated.
"Yes, if you can manage to avoid the storm of bullets, of course. Here, you might need this," He chuckled, as he tossed a katana at me.
I caught it by the handle and stared at the blade, my face reflecting off of it. So, they're finally letting me use proper, metal weapons, huh?
"Doubt this is gonna make a difference against guns though," I muttered to myself dryly.
"Okay, ready...begin!" Exclaimed Alok, before all the robots suddenly aimed their guns at me.
I shot forward as fast as I could, rushing in towards one of them at top speed...right before my entire body was riddled with bullets from several directions. Pain bursting out at each spot I was struck in.
I leapt towards the robot I'd shot towards, and as a bullet hit the side of my face and burst in through my left cheek and shooting out of my right cheek, knocking out a few of my teeth in the process, I swung the sword down at the robot, which slashed through the top of its head.
An electric spark and crackle burst out from it as it then stopped working, its arms slumping down. I quickly pulled the blade out and began to turn towards one of the other robots, before I found myself on the floor as a bullet shot through my skull, piercing through my brain.
O-oh, this is...really weird, I...I feel so strange whenever my brain takes damage, I can barely think and I can hardly move at all...this is gonna be really rough...
