"Wait, I can sober myself up, let me fight too, I can-...," I began to say.
"No, you're not ready yet. Stay put, I can handle this," He replied, as he flew off.
"This isn't good...the boss isn't suited for combat against a large group, his powers are healing are flight, he's at a disadvantage here," Frowned Xandra with a look of concern.
"Actually, he has another power...but he hasn't used it in a long time, and I highly doubt he'll use it here, it's too dangerous. Which means, yes, like you said...he's at a disadvantage," Replied Josh grimly.
Yale flew out towards the group of invaders, zipping across the air to evade as they fired at him. Those aren't normal guns, they're shooting some kind of energy beams. They're faster than regular bullets, I've been shot enough times to tell, even from this distance.
"Get back inside the house, quickly!" Yale yelled at the younger members who'd been playing in the garden, many of whom were frozen with fear.
Yale's really fast through the air, but if he doesn't have a way to attack, then-...suddenly, he rapidly swooped down towards one of the terrorists, grabbing his shoulders and lifting him up into the air. The man began to raise his gun up towards Yale, before he swiftly dropped the man back down.
The man plummeted with a yelp, wildly firing out several energy beams from his gun in a panic, before letting out a cry of pain as his legs broke. A couple of the blasts he fired struck the mansion, one of them not too far away from the balcony we were on.
Yale then swooped down towards another of them, who fired several energy blasts at him from his gun in response, while the others around began to take aim as well.
Yale evaded the blasts, and as he began to grab the man and lift him up, another of the terrorists fired at him, the energy beam shooting towards him rapidly. Yale quickly lifted up the man he grabbed, raising him up in front of himself, using him as a shield and letting the blast hit him.
He let out a sharp yell of pain as the blast scorched off his shirt and severely burnt his skin, letting out a weak groan as Yale dropped him, before zipping forward and striking the guy who shot at him on the chin with his elbow.
He's really good, but...there's way too many of them, he can't take down all of them. Those beams don't pierce like bullets do, but it does look like they inflict significant damage nonetheless.
If he takes two or three direct hits, that could be it for him. They're all surrounding him and firing at him in unison now, he's able to evade most of the attacks, but several of the beams have grazed him, his skin badly burnt in those spots.
He then quickly flew up, getting out of their range, a grimace on his face as beads of sweat ran down the sides of his face, a hint of pain in his expression.
"Hey, we should go help him...he can't do this alone," I remarked, clenching my fists around the railing of the balcony.
"I hate to admit it, but with how stoned I am right now, I'd probably just get in his way...and you're not ready to fight for real yet, Red," Xandra shook her head with a look of frustration on her face.
Seriously?
"Hm? Hey...look over there," Suddenly pointed Kris, gesturing to a row of bushes.
"Oh, no...," Frowned Josh in response, as we glanced in that direction.
It's one of the kids...she's hiding behind the bushes, crawling while using them as cover. She's not far from the entrance to the building, but she's almost out of cover...she's probably gonna try to make a run for it to cover the final stretch of distance.
"Well, that's not good," I muttered, as I glanced at the terrorists.
They haven't noticed her, they're all firing up at Yale. There's gotta be at least fifty of them, and that's not counting the three that Yale's managed to take down so far.
Then, just as I'd feared, the kid sprang up onto her feet and began racing towards the entrance with a look of desperation on her face.
"Hey, over there! There's a Freak brat, kill it!" Yelled one of the terrorists, as they noticed her.
She stiffened as the yell echoed out, tripping and falling with a scared cry, hitting the ground and trying to scramble back up onto her feet fearfully.
"No!" Exclaimed Yale in horror, rapidly swooping down as they took aim at the young girl with their guns.
"Screw this, I'm going down there!" I snapped, as I leapt off the balcony.
"Red, wait-...!"
As I landed on the grass with a thud, Yale managed to swoop down into front of the girl right as the energy blasts closed in on her, trying to pull her out of the way, before letting out a yell of pain as several of the blasts struck him.
He collapsed onto one knee with a pained, weak look on his face, his skin severely burnt all over, his body trembling with pain. I shot towards him as fast as I could, as he struggled to try and get up, falling back down as his knees buckled.
"This is perfect! If we kill the Freak leader of this place, we're set!" Declared one of the terrorists, who had a massive cannon-like gun in his arms, stepping forward and taking aim.
A slight hum began echoing out of the gun, as an increasingly bright glow emanated out of it. Oh, no, he's charging up the blast, that might be powerful enough to kill Yale...I need to hurry!
"R-run, quickly...," Yale uttered weakly to the girl, struggling to stay conscious.
But she was frozen in fear, trembling and unable to move, as tears ran down her face.
"Time to die, Freaks!" Declared the terrorist, as he fired the gun.
"Damn it, I have no choice, I have to-...," Began Yale, raising his hand, the air around it shimmering as his hand began to glow.
Whatever's he's doing, he won't make it in time, the blast is almost upon him already! I leapt forward with all my strength, turning my body across to cover him as much as I could.
I let out a sharp gasp of pain as the blast struck the left side of my torso, scorching off my skin and turning my flesh and bones to ash, blasting off almost my entire left side, my vision blurring severely as immense pain burst out across my body. F-fuck, that hurts...!
"That wasn't enough to wipe them all out? Guess I should've charged it up more," Sighed the terrorist with a shake of his head, before taking aim again.
You rotten bastard, I'll tear you apart...!
"A-Ariodred, get out of here...," Gasped Yale as I let out an enraged growl, his voice wracked with pain.
No.
"Hey, don't kill the kid. We can use that little Freak as a shield against the other Freaks in there. I bet they won't attack us then!"
Huh? What did he just say?
"Now that's some nice thinking, talk about poetic!"
Unforgivable...these people don't deserve to be called human. They don't deserve to live...yeah, they deserve to die. They have to die. So...I'll kill them.
"W-woah, what the fuck!?" One of them blurted out as my body began to regenerate rapidly, Black Blood bursting out of my left side and taking shape, my rage boiling furiously inside me.
"I'm gonna kill you all, and that's better than you deserve...," I muttered icily, as an immense rage burst out inside me, everything going red as a seething fury took over me...
