Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"It's been five weeks since we started these sessions, and I think it's safe to say...we've made absolutely no progress," Sighed Viola, setting down her pen.

"Huh? You've gotta be kidding me, you mean to say I've wasted ten whole hours on nothing?" I groaned in dismay.

"I didn't say that. Here's your problem...you're too damn stubborn. You may have a better understanding of your current mental state, and if you want to, you could probably easily resist your Blood Demon form from coming out. But there's another problem that I've come to realize...you have no interest in changing.

It's probably wrong to say we've made no progress at all...I can confidently say that we've made some headway in getting your mental state and emotions to a more stable place, but that said, you're too cynical for your own good.
