Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"Let's stop early today...it's your first mission later today, so no need to train too much, you should conserve your energy," Remarked Miyuru lazily, as he evaded my attack by teleporting away and firing out a lightning bolt at my back...yeah, right, he doesn't actually care about that, he just wants to take the opportunity to slack off!

I sprang out of the way to evade, before firing out a small drop of my blood from my finger like a bullet...but it lost all momentum and fell onto the floor with a quiet splat, well before it could reach him.

"Should you really be saying that? We've still got a hour left, and after that I've got eight whole hours to rest. I think I'll be just fine, so I'd like to keep going," I pointed out with a sigh.
