Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"So, what are all of your codenames, again? I know Turbo and Fiery Monkey, but not the rest of you," I remarked, feeling kinda bored.

We were behind a dark, worn down warehouse, where the radar was detecting several people inside. We'd been here for an hour already, we were able to hear what was being said inside thanks to one of the sensors in the van, but nothing of any real importance was being said right now.

"My codename is Phantasma, because I can turn invisible, so I'm like a ghost, and a phantasm is a kind of ghost, so-...," Began Umeka, seeming like she was about to go off on a rant.

"Okay, I get it, that's a great name! What about you guys?" I asked the other two.

"I go by Lux, since I can absorb sunlight and moonlight," Replied Nevon with a smile.

"Simple and straight to the point, cool. And that just leaves you, big guy. So, what's your fancy codename?" I inquired, as I tapped Wick on the shoulder.
