Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"Have to say, you did great, Ario, nice work out there," Grinned Viola with a nod of approval, as she gave me a pat on the shoulder.

"Oh, uh...thanks," I replied awkwardly, smiling slightly as I averted my gaze.

"Yeah, if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you were legit drunk back there, that was good acting," Added Miyuru in agreement.

"Thanks...so, you guys caused the blackout, right? And I'm guessing you teleported into the bar with Viola and Umeka?" I asked him.

"Ahem, it's Phantasma when I'm on a mission," Umeka chimed in indignantly.

"Yeah, that's right. Miyuru used his Electrokinesis to fry the circuit board of the bar, which was on the outside. The door was slightly open, so he was able to teleport the two of us inside. I was to try and hear their thoughts, while Umeka would try to get close and overhear what they were saying. I probed into your mind a bit so that you'd know we were in.
