Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

Black Blood - The Alter World

"G-get away...please, I-I don't want to hurt anyone...," Pleaded a middle-aged man, his body trembling as I approached him.

He'd extended out his fingernails like claws, and looking at his injuries, he's clearly been tortured mercilessly...there's probably a bomb inside his body as well...

"I'm so sorry, I wish I could help you...but all I can do is put you out of your misery. I'll try to make it as painless as possible," I replied as I clenched my fists, before raising my hand and taking aim as I formed a blood needle.

"Th...thank you...," He whispered with a broken smile, before I shot him through the middle of the head.

That's the fourth Alter I've encountered down here...the last three all exploded after I incapacitated them.

I then quickly backed away as the man's body began rapidly bloating, a sharp ringing echoing out of his body before it exploded, blood splattering onto me as his insides painted the walls of the corridor.
