Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"I'm sorry, I don't have any food or water on me...but I'll get you some soon, okay?" I smiled as her stomach rumbled, patting her head as I let her out of the cage, before turning towards the wall covered in several screens.

I'll ignore the security camera feeds and instead see if I can find anything on the computers, there might be some useful information on there.

"O-okay...," Nodded the girl, still looking wary of me.

I can't blame her...there's probably a part of her that's thinking that this is some cruel prank or something. After what's she's likely been through, it's only natural that she'd be afraid to get hopeful.

"I hate to ask this of you, but please wait for a few more minutes, okay?" I responded, as I walked over to the computers.
