Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"Damn it, you naive asshole...! Why...why the hell are you protecting her!?" I snapped furiously.

"No one dies on my watch, no matter who they are. She'll get what she deserves...she'll be locked up for the rest of her life, she'll never hurt anyone again," He responded firmly, as he healed her bleeding shoulder, closing up the wound.

"You have no right to say that to me...your naive idealism is what caused all this! I should never have tried to do things your way, that was the biggest mistake of my life...if only I'd trusted my own beliefs, then Xandra would still be alive. Get out of my way, Yale...I don't want to hurt you, but if you keep protecting that bitch, you'll give me no choice. Move, now," I warned him, as I clenched my fists.

"All of you except Miyuru, take Theo and Viola and get away from here. Miyuru, help me incapacitate Ario," Instructed Yale, stepping forward as his right fist began glowing.
