Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

"Uh, hello? It's me, Ariodred," I called out after knocking on the door to Riley's office.

"Yes, come in, I've been waiting for you."

I then opened the door and stepped inside, shutting it behind me as I approached her desk, taking a seat as she gestured towards the chair in front of her desk.

"Sorry if I kept you waiting, I was in the middle of training and was super sweaty by the time Sara with a lisp told me that you wanted me in your office, so I decided to take a shower before coming here," I remarked, as I slumped back into the chair and made myself comfortable.

"Hm, I suppose I appreciate that. I don't like being kept waiting, but if that was the case, then you made the right call. Alright, let's get straight to the point, shall we? I called you here because I have a mission for you," She informed me.
