Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

Hm? I'm feeling a bit light-headed and kinda drowsy too...this mist, it's got some kind of tranquilizing effect or something. The sensation of the effect feels fairly different to Miyuru's tranquilizing mist, but the effect is quite similar...I should deal with this quickly, before it spreads further throughout the building and affects the students and other civilians.

As the sound of electricity crackling echoed out from up ahead, a sharp burst of electricity shot towards me through the mist with a vicious spark and crackle, which I evaded by getting low down onto my hands and feet.

As the bolt of electricity flew past me over the top of my head, I then shot forward rapidly while continuing to stay low, as I formed a blade with my blood in my left hand, focusing on the sensation I was getting from my blood that was inside his body in order to keep track of his position.
