Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"So, wait, your transformation ability isn't a separate power? It's a part of your Life Force Consumption power?" I inquired in fascination.

"Hm, interesting...it's rare for a single power to be so versatile," I mused with a sense of intrigue.

"Oh, please, you're one to talk...between your blood manipulation, those red laser blasts or whatever, rapid regeneration, nullification and that overpowered transformation, your power is a hell of a lot more versatile," She pointed out dryly.

Well, when she puts it like that...

"Wait, don't you have two powers? If your transformation ability is a part of your Life Force Consumption, then what's your second power?" I asked her.

"Ugh, so many questions...my second power lets me create upto five afterimages that copy my movements. Well, I guess it'd be more accurate to call them holograms instead of afterimages."
