Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

Black Blood - The Alter World

A deafening crash rang out as the woman leapt towards me and slammed her hammer onto the floor as I leapt away to evade it, before covering my ears with my blood as the guy unleashed a sharp sonic screech in my direction.

I could just try to nullify his attack, but it'd be tricky to successfully nullify it before it has even a small effect on me, so blocking my ears is the easier option to counter his sound attacks.

"Tch, he's fast," Growled the woman, as she lifted her hammer back up, the tiles around the spot where she'd slammed it onto broken to pieces.

"What the hell...why are my attacks having no effect!?" Snapped the guy, before opening his mouth wide and firing off another sonic screech at me.

I plugged my ears again, before spreading out my wings and launching myself towards the woman with a rapid, powerful flap, her eyes widening in alarm as I closed in on her in an instant and slammed my fist onto her stomach.
