Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

"Are you still not going to make a move? This is getting boring, Viola. I mean, seriously, how long are we just going to stay here in hiding? Aren't you bored too?"

"Oh, quite the contrary. I'm not boring myself, I'm building up my anticipation. The longer I wait, the more satisfying it'll be when I finally make my move, it's as simple as that. And it won't be much longer now, Cinse...all my corpse puppets have been taken down, I was hoping they'd be able to kill at least two people before getting defeated, but they only managed to kill one. Still, though, that one dead has had quite a significant impact," I smirked in response.

Wick isn't someone who's usually easy to catch off guard, guess he was a bit overwhelmed by this whole situation...heh, which worked out great for me!
