A CRYBABY

Why did Wu Jinhai change his opinion about Wu Jingguo and choose to trust the younger man?

Maybe it was some kind of sensitive question or maybe it was difficult, and that was why Wu Jinhai didn't answer it right away.

They were still sitting side by side by the fish pond in front of Yu Ming's pavilion, and Yu Ming was also patiently waiting for an answer instead of urging the younger man to answer. He didn't look at the other man either. Instead, he just looked ahead as his right hand fiddled with the grass he had just pulled up from the ground.

Until finally, Wu Jinhai sighed heavily before replying, "That's because that kid is a crybaby."

Finally getting an answer from Wu Jinhai, Yu Ming seemed to be trying to hold back his laughter, but then he asked, "You said your brother is just a crybaby? Did he cry when he found you in one of the prisons in Dong Lang two weeks ago?"

It was Wu Jingguo's job to find Wu Jinhai when Yu Ming and Bai Chen went straight to Zuigao Hall. It was also Wu Jingguo who volunteered to find his elder brother first. He said that his elder brother might be in danger, and that was why he chose to separate from Yu Ming and Bai Chen back then.

Yu Ming only saw the two brothers again when Shao Yaoting fled from the ruins of Zuigao Hall, and the Immortal Elder immediately chased after the traitor. Back then, he had just killed his father, but neither Wu Jingguo nor Wu Jinhai looked surprised by what he had just done.

In the end, it was Yu Ming who had to explain what happened in Zuigao Hall, but unfortunately, he didn't get an explanation of what happened between the two brothers before finally appearing together in the ruins of the hall.

"I can't say that he cried after finding me," Wu Jinhai replied. "I lied to him back then. I said that I would never return to Wu Li because the people in Wu Li only looked down on me, and I also signaled to him that I would be on Shao Yaoting's side instead. He couldn't accept my decision, and that's why he started begging me. He wasn't really crying, but his eyes were filled with tears as he kept tugging at my sleeve like a child."

Finally, Yu Ming couldn't hold back his laughter, and he burst out laughing. "Back then, did you think your brother was innocent just because he was on the verge of tears?" He asked the black-haired man after his laughter died down.

"That statement is not completely true," Wu Jinhai replied. "Back then, I realized that that kid didn't really harm me other than the fact that he stole my position as Crown Prince in this empire, but it wasn't even his will to usurp the position either. Instead, he was only following his mother's orders, and he was also only trying to do what his mother faction wanted."

Yu Ming smiled as he shook his head in amusement. "You know about it, but you have continued to hate him all these years, Xiao Hai," he commented.

Hearing that careless comment, Wu Jinhai frowned in displeasure as he said, "Do you think you are different from me? You used to hate him blindly, right? And what is the reason behind your hatred? You also said that he was annoying, but the real reason is that he doesn't want to return your feelings, right?"

Yu Ming widened his eyes in surprise. "W-what did you just say, Wu Jinhai?" He asked in disbelief. "What feelings are you talking about? I have no feelings for him at all! You're right that he is indeed a son of a bitch in my eyes since he kept looking down on people like me in the past, but I have absolutely no feelings for him! If anything, then you should say that I was trying so hard to get into his pants all this time. However, the reason behind it was just because he kept looking down on me!"

Wu Jinhai must have known when Yu Ming and Wu Jingguo had spent a night together while they were under the influence of liquor a few months ago. Yu Ming had never admitted it in front of Wu Jingguo, but the blue-robed Prince was actually right when he kept saying that Yu Ming had deliberately trapped him with liquor back then.

Wu Jingguo didn't know the truth, but Wu Jinhai knew about it. He also knew that Yu Ming did such a thing to punish his half-brother.

But perhaps Wu Jinhai assumed that the affair between Yu Ming and Wu Jingguo was none of his business, and that was why he slowly rose from his seated position on the ground as he threw the small towel into Yu Ming's lap once more.

"I will go to the court meeting now. It will not be good in His Majesty's eyes if I arrive late on my first day," said the Crown Prince.

Hearing those words leave Wu Jinhai's lips, Yu Ming suddenly rose from his position as well, and he hastily replied, "His Majesty has also invited me to the court meeting today! I will be changing my clothes in a moment, so please wait for me, okay? I want to go to the meeting with you!"

Wu Jinhai could see how Yu Ming had suddenly become very energetic, and that was why he frowned at the older man instead of answering the man's request. And Yu Ming probably didn't need to hear a response either as he immediately turned his body around before half-running towards his new pavilion.

The frown remained on Wu Jinhai's forehead, and his pair of brown eyes also kept looking at the narrow back that kept moving away from him. "I think he's got some evil plan in his head right now," he muttered to himself.

Wu Jinhai had his own opinion about Yu Ming, and even if Yu Ming did not hear his muttering, a small smirk suddenly appeared on his face as he continued to bring his feet toward his pavilion.

Sure enough, Yu Ming's head was full of evil plans.
