THE STRANGE DEMONS

The origins of the demons in this world were unknown. No one could explain when and where the demons started appearing. One certain thing was that humans and werewolves existed before demons existed.

Years ago, there were only humans and werewolves in this world, and the situation between the two creatures couldn't be said to be conducive. Unfortunately, the situation worsened after the appearance of the demons.

No one knew whether it was humans or werewolves who first discovered the existence of demons, but the first demon the two creatures became familiar with was one that resembled a tree. Later, people found out that it was the tree demon who frequently appeared in the forest and trapped humans and werewolves to become their food.

Demons were indeed creatures that were like a combination of a human and another thing, and that was why it was no wonder there were even tree demons that looked like a human and a tree. Years ago, humans and werewolves even thought that the demons were actually humans but cursed, but no one could confirm that suspicion to this day.

Right now, people only knew how demons could have such a ridiculous appearance because they were like a combination of a human and another thing, and now Wu Jingguo felt the same way when he was surrounded by demons.

They were demons who previously looked busy with their activities, but for some reason, they suddenly surrounded him and Yu Ming before the two of them could even continue moving in the demon realm.

"Do you think we are being overly suspicious? Probably because we spent so long standing here like idiots, right?" Wu Jingguo whispered to Yu Ming who was still standing beside him, but his eyes kept a wary look on the other demons.

Yu Ming smiled before replying, "Perhaps so, Your Highness."

It was indeed the answer that came from Yu Ming, but it was not satisfactory enough for Wu Jingguo as the fish demon didn't even offer a solution to the problem they were facing.

"Eh, who are you, eh?" One of the demons surrounding the two of them asked a question, and the accent he used even sounded very strange to Wu Jingguo's ears.

The only demon close to him was Yu Ming, and it could be said that Yu Ming usually talked like a human. Of course, Yu Ming could occasionally use a flirtatious tone, but it still sounded normal compared to how the unknown demon spoke in front of him.

In fact, Wu Jingguo tried not to inhale too much ever since the group of demons started to surround him and Yu Ming. The reason behind that was that somehow the demons smelled bad, but Wu Jingguo wasn't even sure if it was just one demon that smelled bad or if it was all the demons that brought discomfort to his nose.

But when he carefully observed the appearance of the demon who had just questioned him and Yu Ming, he thought of something, 'Maybe the stench comes from this demon.'

He didn't know what demon it was, but every bit of his skin was covered in black hair. His hair looked like human hair, but it was very thick covering the demon's entire body and face, and that was why Wu Jingguo assumed that it was the demon who made his nose uncomfortable.

"Yeah! Who are you? I can sense that you two are demons, but I've never seen anyone like you in this area before, so you must be new here, right? Are you a spy sent by The North Peak to watch us?" Another demon asked even before Yu Ming and Wu Jingguo could answer the previous question.

When Wu Jingguo turned his gaze toward the demon who had just asked that question, he could see another strange demon here. It was a demon whose skin was silver. Yes, it was silver like the silver coins he used to buy things in the market. The demon's entire skin was indeed silver, including his face and head, and it was indeed a laughable sight in Wu Jingguo's eyes.

Suddenly, he realized that something was off here, and he carefully shifted his gaze to scan the demons one by one. Only a dozen demons surrounded him and Yu Ming, and if he could describe every single one of them, he would use the word "strange" to describe them.

'Yu Ming suddenly looks normal compared to them,' the Prince thought to himself.

Yu Ming's skin would only be covered in fish scales when he transformed into his true form, and the sight was nothing outrageous compared to the other demons in front of him.

Other than the two demons he described earlier, he could see other demons that also looked ridiculous like how a demoness had flowers covering her chest and private areas down there, and even her hair was made of flowers. And then there was also another female demon who had fungus all over her body. Sure enough, the sight was rather comical than terrifying in Wu Jingguo's eyes.

"No, no! We're not from The North Peak, so you don't need to be alarmed just because of our arrival!" Yu Ming finally answered the demon's question, and he even waved his hands to say that he was indeed not from the place mentioned by the demon.

'But, what is The North Peak?' Wu Jingguo frowned in confusion when he heard how the demon and Yu Ming said the name, and that was because he had never heard of that place before.

"Eh, if you're not from The North Peak, eh, then where are you from?" The demon whose skin was all covered in hair asked another question after hearing Yu Ming's answer.

At this point, Wu Jingguo didn't know what to do, and that was why he only stared at Yu Ming while waiting for what the fish demon would say.

Yu Ming seemed to have noticed his gaze, but the man deliberately ignored him as he replied, "My partner and I here were also abandoned by the mighty demons of The North Peak, and we can only find shelter here. Can we stay here temporarily?"
