Secret Place Part 3

"Here," she said. Then she twirled like some flamboyant performer, she waves towards the pool. "Fresh water for you"

My eyes grew wide. "What? How come I've never seen this place before?"

"You've never asked for water before," she replied.

I looked at her with a sarcastic smirk. Sir Phillipe ran forward and picked up a white flower that had blown off the tree. It started eating it.

Bella tapped her chin and said, "At least we know why it thought you were delicious."

I snickered and said, "I am not delicious. You are more delicious than me."

She strutted forward and whipped her head. "I do not have white hair." I would not wish it on you either.

Sir Phillipe came over and she took him up and spun him around like a bird. Bella even made hawk sounds to illustrate her placing him in flight.

Then it hit me. When I'm gone, she'll have Sir Phillipe to keep her company. That fact made me feel a little better. Bella let him back on the ground and the Sir Phillipe ran over to the little pond.

The rabbit put his mouth down to the water formed from the waterfall, while Bella and I cupped our hands and drank directly from the flowing water. That water was so crisp, clean and refreshing, it felt like it cleared our minds.

"Wow Bella, this is the best water I've ever tasted in my life," I said.

She nodded; a smile painted her face in glee. I basically poured this magical water down my throat. Once our bellies were full, we noticed the rabbit washed its face up with some of the water.

It then rams into me. My hand reacted in shock by flicking back and in response throwing Sir Phillipe into the pool.

Water splashed into Bella's gown. Bella stepped back in surprise and groaned at me. I held my hands up in surrender. "Hey, it was an accident."

Bella fluttered her eyes in faux annoyance at me. With a shake of her head and an enduring mumble, she turned away from my flustered face. She looked down at the pond and asked, "You okay, Sir Phillipe?"

Sir Phillipe jumped up and ram into her, but barely sidetracked her on its prowl. The water followed with much accuracy than the rabbit and soaked the lower part of the skirt.

I tried to hold it, but ended up bursting out laughing. Bella glared, while Sir Phillipe sat upright as if to be proud of his achievement.

They once told me with pride came before fall. Bella slipped her cupped hand into the water and threw it forward, spewing us with globs of water.

I was not taking that lying down, for I rolled my hands into the water to throw back at her.

We splashed water at each other and ran from whoever was positioned at the waterfall. Sure, we got a bit wet, but it quickly dried after.

We all returned to the garden, collapsing collectively in the flowers and inhaling the distinct scents of dewy grass and each flower.

It was medicinal somewhat, calming my racing heart. We dozed slightly before being awoken by Sir Phillipe's thumping in our ears.

Everything was dark. I got up and looked down at Bella. In her silent slumber, her hair paraded the right side of her face in lumps that gave her an affluent quality.

She was a beautiful sight; I had to admit. I nudged her. Her eyes parted open, revealing her dreamy eyes. I smiled. "It's time to go home. It's about to get really dark".

Bella flew up quickly. "Oh dear, I'm going to be in so much trouble if I don't make it back before nightfall. My parents will be worried."

"Yeah, Annie will be worried too."

Bella looked around until she saw Sir Phillipe slumped flat against the grass like some deadpan depression overcame him.

"Bye Sir Philippe." Bella hugged him and set off running.

I waved at Sir Phillipe, who was standing up at attention towards me. "Nice meeting you. I had so much fun. Thank you."

It nodded at me; I think. I turned, not thinking about it further, but I swore to you. I think he nodded at me.

I set off running too, after Bella, to make sure she got home safely. The run home was without pain and filled with some sorrow because I wanted to stay.

I bust through the door to see Annie and Joel. "Hi guys!" I shouted before running to get washed up and get in bed.

It wasn't until I hit the bed and I guessed the adrenaline left my body that the pain in my legs returned like some numbing clench on my legs. As thankful as I was for today and the fun I had, I was overcome with sadness that I had to leave it all behind.

Something about this day resonated with me differently. I guessed it was the veins growing. It might be that.

I knew I was loved as the days go by and I felt it from the surrounding people. In times past, I never considered how my living affected others. It was a weird disposition and feeling to be seeing others want to be around me on my last days.

Making that effort I never once had. This had been an eye-opening experience, that was for sure.

I yawned and stretched. That stretch felt like beautiful energy moved through my body. Closing my journal, I rolled over. Yeah, I was just overreacting. Today was a great day. Nothing was going to keep me awake tonight. Tired, I fell asleep in the blink of an eye.
