The Morning Surprise

Seraphina stared into Raven's eyes which were now overwhelmed with a darkness that almost felt evil to her. The whites of his eyes had vanished completely, overtaken by the blackness. And as he glared at her angrily, there was no hint of any recognition in those orbs.

"Raven," she called out, her voice almost trembling.

In response, a deep, deadly growl rumbled from his chest, warning her to stay silent. Startled and a little scared, she went completely still. He seemed angry at her, as if her presence in his bed was totally unwelcome. He seemed at alert and suspicious of her.

His grip on her shoulder was painfully tight, and she realized that one wrong move could make him use that same hand to strangle her to death, but only if it was even possibile in the first place considering she was already dead. Still, it was a chilling thought.
