"Sera, the apple orchard is actually in full bloom already. Will we be harvesting ripe apples soon?" Alora was ready to jump around the orchard in excitement as she asked the question.
"Maybe in a week or so." Seraphina replied as she inhaled deeply and enjoyed the sweet fragrance of apple blossoms. This was undoubtedly the most fragrant air she had inhaled in the Shadow City in the past two months.
"This is so good." Alora muttered and as Seraphina's gaze shifted toward her, the latter finally noticed the unshed tears that were filling the girl's eyes.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
Alora quickly shook her head before she turned to face her and moved closer before taking hold of both her hands. "Sera, thank you so much for coming to the Shadow City. You have changed our lives and this cursed land in a way we couldn't have even dreamed of. You are the best thing that has happened to us and the Lords in a long long while."
