Connecting With The Stone

"Indeed."

Lucian's voice was soft, but there was a firmness in it that made Sera turn to look at him. When she did, she noticed something unexpected. His ocean blue eyes weren't just on the floor or the surroundings—they were on her.

For a moment, she thought she saw something in his gaze, a flicker of emotion. But before she could make sense of it, he quickly looked away, as if the moment had never happened.

She felt a wave of confusion. Why had he been staring at her like that? Was it just her imagination? She wanted to think more about it, but he interrupted her thoughts by leading her to a set of comfortable couches near the fireplace. He motioned for her to sit down, and she did so without hesitation.

As she settled into the couch, Kethan spoke up. "Do you want me to leave?" His question was directed toward Lucian.

Lucian shook his head and replied, "You can stay if you want. I just want to talk about the stone with her."
